The service here is always friendly, informative, patient, and attentive. Also, the food isn't bad and is likely the best you'll get in Waterloo. Their menu is sort of exciting with traditional Asian-inspired dishes like duck, octopus, etc. However, most duck orders must be placed a day in advance, and that's heartbreaking. The restaurant is quite dim and lifeless with no music on - just muted TVs playing game shows. But, they welcome you with a fresh glass of ice water like old-school joints while you explore the menu. They're also one of the only places in town to find an untapped bottle of plum wine (my favorite). Unfortunately, the price of a bottle mirrors the menu prices - somewhat expensive. Still, it's better than driving to Cedar Rapids for Asian cuisine and the staff remembers my family when we come in, so that's nice.

Friendly small town Chinese food. Keep in mind you're in Waterloo Iowa and you'll be delighted. Fresh food, thoughtfully prepared. They happily customized something for me. Good quality ingredients and fresh veggies not overcooked. I'm not a fan of cut up egg in the wonton soup, but the wonton was tasty. I've eaten Chinese food in cities all over the country and this place holds up with welcoming friendly service. I will return when I'm back in town.

The food is great and reminds me of my favorite Chinese restaurant from when I was a kid. We enjoyed our entrees and appetizers, but the service was impeccable. Our waitress was the highlight! My only issue was the hot and sour soup, which was disappointing but I still ate the entire bowl!

Couldn't decide what to eat was down to McDonald's or golden china and choosing this place the absolute best choice I've ever made! Food was absolutely delicious, looks, smells, taste all 10/10 everything pictured for 34$!!!!! Both meals came with a side of either fried or plain white rice (your choice) egg drop soup and a fortune cookie. Hot tea was absolutely amazing, menu was easy to Read. Table was clean, waitress was respectful, the atmosphere was comfortable. Just found a new date spot. 100⭐
