What a fun place! Delicious food, great variety, fun decor. Nice staff. If you have a large group, it'll take a little time but it's worth it. I'll be back!

My BIL and I ate at H.C. today. We both have been here before. First, it is a fun restaurant to visit as there are many lunchboxes and thermoses adorning the walls, some of them you may recognize! They also have decorated with Waterloo signage and old downtown Waterloo photos. Loved the pic of Dan 🥹: we miss him! We ordered a California Dog and a ham and cheese panini. We got chips and the delicious pablano potato salad (Katie’s recipe). The staff was friendly and helpful. They feature gourmet paninis, pressed hoagies, butter croissants, pita flatbreads, wraps and all beef hot dogs. Prices and reasonable. I recommend checking out this restaurant and, dine downtown Waterloo!

Had the monster Chicago dog which was BETTER than the famous Superdawg in Chicago. Also had the Chili/Cheese dog which was just as good. The staff were amazing! Helpful and friendly.

Stopped here on a trip and are very happy we did. The place smells amazing and the food is awesome! I had the chefs salad and broccoli cheese soup. Both were wonderful. My husband had the chili cheese monster dog with house made chili and his was really good, too. We'll definitely stop here again. The service was fantastic, too, and the decor is cute - all antique themed lunchboxes.

Oh my gosh!! Passing through Waterloo and found this little gem!! The food was SO DELICIOUS!! I had the grilled cheese and added avocado!! It was the best sandwich I’ve ever had!! And hubs had the Chicago dog and he said it was delicious!! Highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back!!
