The time and dedication it takes to hand make every sauce, pay attention to every customer like they are family, and do it all usually sprained, strained and broken; that's Medo's. Free soup every day?! No packets, no cans, no cheating, nothing but honesty? Definitely will be here daily.

This is a great restaurant with delicious food and an exceptional chef! I had the goulash, which was wonderful! Thick chunks of beef, creamy mashed potatoes, and a flavorful broth with fresh slices of bread! The service was great and the chef and server were very friendly. Had a great visit and will definitely be back! I absolutely recommend visiting this gem of a restaurant!

Thick chunks of beef, creamy mashed potatoes, and a flavorful broth with fresh slices of bread! The service was great and the chef and server were very friendly. I hate to write this review because this place was one of my families favorite restaurants as we traveled through Waterloo. Unfortunately, the highly praised reviews that are here are from the previous owner. This restaurant is currently under newer ownership as of a couple month's ago, and my 2 experiences since then have been very disappointing, to say the least. My American wife and kids stopped in without me in June and the gentleman, who is the new owner, didn't acknowledge them though they were the only people there at that time. She asked if the prior owner was there who LOVED our kids like they were her own. He said no and then just looked at them. She asked if they had a menu, thinking it might be new, He slid it to her and told her they didn't have anything available they were looking for. She called me, thinking maybe there was a language barrier. I spoke with him in bosnian and received a different behavior. She said the food was good but the atmosphere was upsetting. Our second trip was yesterday, where I was there with my kids and had invited family friends to join us. I'd bragged up how good this place was to only be disappointed and embarrassed like I should have taken them somewhere else. The serves wasn't any better. I greeted the owner in bosnian, and he just stood there. The cook came out, greeted my family and I, and took our order. They didn't have any of the pitas or the hot foods. We ordered other items but were disappointed for our other friends who were excited about the experience. When we were leaving, we thanked the cook and said goodbye. The owner just stood there like the Waterloo statue and said nothing. If you're going to have the personality of a goldfish, you probably shouldn't be the first face people need to encounter. I'd also recommend that you move the people outside who are smoking away from the door so customers don't have to walk through them or be smelling it while they're eating inside. Enesa O. is greatly missed at the restaurant. We thank you for all the wonderful years and experiences you've given and shown my family and I. We wish you nothing but the best.

I have fallen in love with every new dish I try from this family owned restaurant. Bursting with flavor and bright colors all made with the best of care. It's worth a try and easy on the wallet to work it in as a weekly family meal.

Drove an hour away to eat here just to find out its closed when it said it's open on here. Not very happy especially because the weather just turned absolutely horrible too. Next time please update on here if you are closed.
