The lady making our subs messed up our order, and at first we explained what was wrong and then she started being rude saying that she made our order the way we said. Regardless, very unprofessional.
Best subs in town.
Lady was not very friendly rushing when I wasn't ready to order
Best subs in town!
Usually we go here quite frequently. This time was a fairly close to closing time. We did order at least 4 footlongs. The lady making them basically emptied the rest of the ingredients on 1 sub, mostly pickles and green peppers. Put the vinegar and oil directly on the bread making it soggy and falling apart while trying to eat. Definitely felt like it was intentional her putting V&O on the bread first because she heard me say lettuce and everything else first and waited then put that on first. Usually we never have complaints. Tonight near closing time we could not have more disappointed.
Although there are other decent places to get a sub sandwich in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area, Sub City beats them all. The sandwiches are authentic New Jersey style, the ingredients are always fresh, and they slice the meat right in front of you. We are blessed to have 3 Sub City locations in our area. All of them are great, but the downtown Waterloo location caters mostly to the lunch crowd, and College Hill is a bit higher priced (ironically, since it serves a lot of college students). It is nice that the Kimball Ridge location is open later for those who might want subs for supper.
Always a good meal. Free pet scraps for dogs if in stock..

The sandwich is always fresh. Love how you watch them cut the meat and cheese as you order. Soups are good also

Rude service. Take note the owner answers to these reviews are always making excuses for rude behavior. The one in CF is great. Note to owner you are loosing customers fast.

Go to Sub City on 4TH! Super disappointed with this location. Ordered a BLT and got home to bacon and mayonnaise on bread. Guy tried to tell me lettuce and tomatoes were "toppings"..... on a BLT, and I would have needed to ask for them to be put on the sandwich. It was like pulling teeth to get my sandwich remade. AND they first offered to only remake HALF of the sandwich due to a few bites being taken. Again, go down to 4th, better food and people.

I am from NYC & this is the CLOSEST thing to a great hoagie you will find here! This is honestly ONE of the best sub places in the US! God bless them!

I have been to this subcity at least four times where the staff was so rude. Always the older ladies. Very off putting. They complained directly to my face about my sandwich on two occasions now. The request was “a little bit of ___” which apparently is too much to ask for. I’ve only ever killed them with kindness but still they are always wound up so tight. Their terrible mood has always ruined my experience. If I were you I would stay far away from this subcity if you value your day. If management reads this, please have a word with your staff. They are just making sandwiches not in a firefight in Afghanistan. And I have worked multiple food industry jobs so I know exactly what it’s like to be in their shoes. Do better.

First off, I’ll start with something minor. I go to the Sub City on College Hill for buffalo sauce. Curious as to why they have it and the Kimball location doesn’t?? Secondly, I’ve never encountered such rude workers as there are at this place. The College Hill location is so polite and friendly and doesn’t belittle you if you don’t order the way they want you to. You can actually talk to the employees and have a good time. Not sure if different people own the 2 locations, but your store could sure learn a thing or two by seeing how the College Hill locations does things. The worst part about the being rude part is that you were rude to my young child, which is totally unacceptable. You should be ashamed.
The staff was a bit umph but it started to get busy.
