Price to value relationship is way off in comparison to your bagels at your Clive location. $12.00 for a mini cinnamon roll and chocolate croissant is not a place we will be returning to.

One of the best cheese denish I've ever had. The cashier is super friendly. She even gifted us a cookie. I will bring some friend over for more denish. 😎

There are not really a lot of items to choose from, but I liked the 2 items that I did purchase.

Bakery items were alight. It is nice to have a fresh bakery in Waukee and pastry’s are better than something like hyvee. However it is simply too expensive to be a regular here. We paid $35 with tip for 5 items. Woah!

I really liked the spiral croissant from 5 boroughs. Will surely try it again.

I came here (5 Borough Bakery, as some of the reviews are from the bakery that 5 Borough replaced) after voting and thought I could pick up a treat for a coworker for her birthday, which was yesterday.
They were pretty busy at 9:15 when I arrived. Line was out the the door - I made it inside at around 9:30ish. Was hoping to try the cinnamon roll, but I heard it was a 30-minute wait. Got to the front to order around 9:38. I just asked what three pastries they had that were already done. The cashier was nice and recommended two. Since I had to get to work by 10, I just got two of whatever she recommended (I did say three, but I didn't care at this point). Got my items within 2 minutes.
I ate one of them and it was delicious. Flakey, not too sweet. Shaped kind of like a cup. I didn't really get the names. Think it was the Kouign-Amann though.
When I gave my coworker the other one, which looked like a chocolate croissant, I was so excited and she raved about the first bite so I tried a bit. She ripped it open and to my surprise, it was still raw! I thought they had some kind of cream cheese in there and it definitely looked like it but upon touching it, it was definitely dough.
Quite disappointed 😞 especially when giving it to someone as a present. I felt terrible.
Some of their smaller pastries are better, but I'm not sure I'd try the larger ones again until they get the baking time figured out.

First time, went right after they opened at 8 am, bought 6 cinnamon rolls, super hard and taste like they came from a can. At $20 for 6 cinnamon rolls, won't get them again. Likely won't drive all the way there again based on this experience.

Got a cake for the kids birthday, tasted fantastic! Nice work!
I can't say too much about this bakery because I've only been there once to pick up a dozen cinnamon rolls that I ordered o line. But the cinnamon rolls were fantastic !
Swung by last minute on a Friday morning to grab some cinnamon rolls. They happened to have some on hand. They were amazing!!!!!! I’m pregnant and eating 2 was no problem for me ☺️ definitely will be back to buy more. I’ll look into ordering online though just for easement on the shops part.
