Staying at a nearby hotel and came in for supper. Everything was fabulous! Service was awesome and the food was delicious. The beer options are endless!
I came to Hearth of Salt, but doors shared entry point so ended up at BeerStyles. Server was attentive, friendly, and responsive. I ordered the Marto Sherbert Groover (sour) that was very good! I tried the Japchae Noodle bowl with grilled chicken added. I’ve had similar clear sweet potato noodle dishes in the past, but these were a bit dense compared and slightly chewy. There was little sauce and veggies, plus it was hard to stab or spoon from the small bowl served in. Presentation could be improved and a bit more added flavor. All in all a good experience with solid service and atmosphere fit for conversation among guests.

Went for the first time tonight for my wife’s birthday. We had a great time! 100 beers on tap, very inexpensive, had flights, great food (king pao Brussel sprouts were great too) and good service! Nice place to hang out. Loved trying many Iowa beers.

Happy hour with coworkers was a smashing success. Good environment during the weekday, AJ (I hope I got his name right!) was awesome and had a great sense of humor. Pretzel bites with cheese were the best app

They may be great for a couple's night out, but I wouldn't book their event spaces again. They sat us in a section of the building that didn't seem to get any heat, almost all of us were directly against an exterior wall with windows while outside temps dipped below 20 degrees. There was a considerable lack of direction from any of the wait staff even though things were supposed to be coordinated beforehand via email and multiple phones calls. I should have known, however, because communication was spotty. We were also served at different times, some in our party were able to finish their meal before others were served. Lots of us were served cold entrees. For a party of 60 we had what I assumed was 1 dedicated server and the front of house manager, who often needed to leave us so they could attend to the regular guests in the restaurant. Most of us never ordered the drinks we wanted because we saw how overwhelmed our only server was. I will say that the portions of food were huge, and many people took leftovers. They also did a great job of accommodating dietary restrictions and explaining the menu beforehand.

Came here recently for dinner and drinks on the patio. The beer selection was definitely the highlight—lots of great options and something for everyone. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
We waited about 15 minutes after being seated before anyone brought us menus, which set the tone for the rest of the visit. When the food came out, both entrees were basically inedible. I ordered a Reuben with sweet potato fries (which had an upcharge), and my partner got a smash burger with regular fries. Everything was incredibly salty—so much so that we couldn’t finish either meal. Even the burger patty was overloaded with salt. On top of that, both types of fries were burnt to a crisp. I could literally snap them in half like dry sticks.
We also had 4 beers (during happy hour), a $6 appetizer, and the two meals—which somehow came out to $80. For the quality and experience, that price just didn’t feel justified.
When we brought up the poor quality of the up-charged food, the waitress offered to comp a 3rd beer, but we refused and said we didn’t need any more beer. When the check came, the sweet potato fries (which were uneaten) and no beers were removed from the final bill. Rather than go back and forth, we just paid and left.
Overall, the drinks were solid, but the food and service really missed the mark. Wouldn’t come back for a meal.
