I've been here twice so far and I'm excited to go back to try more dishes. I've gotten my food to-go because I'm just passing by on my way back to Iowa City. There aren't a lot of vegetarian, main course options on the menu, but the staff have been very accommodating with providing information about the dishes and substituting tofu or extra vegetables for their meat options. I cannot speak to the authenticity of the food, since this is my first experience with Laotian food. However, I will speak to the deliciousness of it. In our group we had the crab Rangoon, egg rolls, dumplings, veggie/tofu soup, a noodle dish, short ribs, a salad, sticky rice, and a rice dish. It was all great. It was very flavorful, the sauces were good, the dishes were fresh, and the portions were huge. I highly recommend, and will definitely be back.
I have missed Laotian food so much since coming back to Iowa. Their food is authentic and so delicious. Definitely added to my list of favorite restaurants and would recommend it to others. I think their green papaya salad was more thai style (som tum) than lao style (thum mak hoong).
