Wonderful quaint little restaurant in the hometown I was born. The food was delicious and local as were the drinks all local beers and alcohols from Iowa highly recommend even if you're just driving through!!

Visiting from Seattle and discovered this excellent pub. Delicious food, excellent prices and super friendly staff. The on-duty manager Miranda was exceptional and really treated us right.

If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in for food and drinks. You won't be disappointed! 👍

Come for a taste of Iowa....this quaint little craft cocktail/beer watering hole specializing in Iowa grown / produced goods is a great spot to visit. They locally owned and operated staff will spoil you and surprise you with a delicious food selection also sourced from Iowa. Definitely worth the trip if your not local to Winterset.

You shouldn’t own a customer based business if you can’t have the basic skills to treat the customers, who are your livelihood, with decency and just basic kindness.

Poor Gen Z waitress (you could tell was in training) came back 2 separate times re my order. She initially told me Yes, they could baste eggs and Yes, English Muffin instead of toast, but they could not do either. NO BIG DEAL if they couldn't. Fixing breakfast is not Rocket Science and I'm Flexible. Just give me over easy and forget the toast (eggs, bacon and potatoes are plenty). She got confused (it happens) and thought I wanted to scratch the total order. When the socially impaired, rude Millennial owner (or manager) brought the food and mine was missing she handled poorly. She came off short and tried to question/finger point about the error. My food wasn't there, why speculate what happened? Apologize and move on. If you can't say sorry about the confusion, just put in a new order which she did. But right after proceeded to whisper for a while at the bar with the Gen Z waitress. What a lousy example for the employees. Made me feel like a heal and all I did was smile and say, that's OK, go ahead and put in a new order. Was the strangest behavior I've witnessed about a mix-up with an order. Just rude with the defensive attitude. Still smh.

First, they weren’t friendly. Second, our order was not right, a dish came with spicy hummus which wasn’t listed. The second order came out wrong, too. Then no apology.

Really enjoyed The Drift! Our family of 3 had dinner here recently, and I loved how kind and welcoming the staff were to our toddler. We all had a great time! Will be back soon!
