“Adelfa’s Comida Cubana - Authentic Cuban Cuisine ⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re looking for Cuban food, be sure to check out Chef Noel Argote- Herrera’s Boise-based mobile kitchen. He often does pop-ups near his home, on the corner of Bella and 15th in Boise, but he frequents other locations as well. To keep track of his whereabouts, Like and Follow his Facebook page. This Saturday, he will be at the Boise Farmer’s Market. Born in Havana, Cuba, raised in Miami Beach, Florida, and Los Angeles, California, some of Chef Noel’s earliest and best memories are of spending time in the kitchen, watching his mother cook. When he started his mobile kitchen in 2018, he named it after his mother. Chef Noel is passionate about his Cuban heritage. The day I visited, he served me while dancing to Cuban music, and sharing stories from his childhood. These photos are from my visit in July 2020. Chef Noel was out of salad, but I ordered everything else on the menu. I tried the Cuban Paella served with Plantains and Rice (10), and the Guava Pastry ($3). This was my first time trying Cuban paella, which has a different flavor profile than Spanish paella. It was a bit bland for my taste. I liked the plantains and rice, but I would have liked it better if I hadn’t also been eating a rice-based entrée. I enjoyed the freshly baked guava pastry. Chef Noel serves a number of traditional Cuban dishes. I’m looking forward to trying his Ropa Vieja, Pernil, Picadillo, Lechon, and Flan. Recommended! — at Adelfa's Comida Cubana.“
“Been watching their IG since the beginning. First couple times we set aside a night, we missed out due to weather and another random closure. Finally made it down. Waited an hour for our burger and fries. Knew after the first bite I needed another. Waited another hour for a second round. Food is amazing. Quality is unquestionable. Owners are extremely humble. I can't wait to see where Smash Alley goes from here.“

“I recently stopped into Slick Rock Coffee and it instantly felt like one of those hidden gems you’re excited to find.
The latte I ordered was smooth and flavorful, clearly made with card; and the baked goods tasted fresh and homemade. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than you planned because the atmosphere is so comfortable.
What really stood out was the people. Even though every table was full and there was a steady line the entire time I was there (mid-morning on a Wednesday!), the barista still took the time to chat and ask about my day. That kind of genuine friendliness is rare.
Great coffee, delicious baked goods, and a warm local vibe. Slick Rock Coffee already feels like a Boise favorite in the making.
