Adelfa’s Comida Cubana - Authentic Cuban Cuisine ⭐️⭐️⭐️If you’re looking for Cuban food, be sure to check out Chef Noel Argote- Herrera’s Boise-based mobile kitchen. He often does pop-ups near his home, on the corner of Bella and 15th in Boise, but he frequents other locations as well. To keep track of his whereabouts, Like and Follow his Facebook page. This Saturday, he will be at the Boise Farmer’s Market.Born in Havana, Cuba, raised in Miami Beach, Florida, and Los Angeles, California, some of Chef Noel’s earliest and best memories are of spending time in the kitchen, watching his mother cook. When he started his mobile kitchen in 2018, he named it after his mother. Chef Noel is passionate about his Cuban heritage. The day I visited, he served me while dancing to Cuban music, and sharing stories from his childhood. These photos are from my visit in July 2020. Chef Noel was out of salad, but I ordered everything else on the menu. I tried the Cuban Paella served with Plantains and Rice (10), and the Guava Pastry ($3). This was my first time trying Cuban paella, which has a different flavor profile than Spanish paella. It was a bit bland for my taste. I liked the plantains and rice, but I would have liked it better if I hadn’t also been eating a rice-based entrée. I enjoyed the freshly baked guava pastry. Chef Noel serves a number of traditional Cuban dishes. I’m looking forward to trying his Ropa Vieja, Pernil, Picadillo, Lechon, and Flan.Recommended! — at Adelfa's Comida Cubana.

(Translated by Google) Good food, although the flavor and seasoning are not exactly what I think it is to eat Cuban… It should have more laurel and cumin(Original)Buena comida , aunque el sabor y la sason no son exactamente lo que creo que es comer cubano … Dede tener mas laurel y comino

I used to work at the University of Miami Hospital and my co-workers would take me to Hialeah for Cuban food. Adelfa’s Comida Cubana is as good or better than any Cuban food I have tasted. If you have never had Cuban food you should. I was pleasantly surprised that I found authentic Cuban food here in Boise.

Really really good Cuban food and what a generous and happy spirit- he might teach you to dance the Cuban salsa while you’re waiting, and he is so generous if you don’t have enough cash, he’s offered us to pay him later and let us have the food. I’m not sure why the other lady gave him a one star review for his generosity, but we think he’s fantastic and so is his food!!

Abhorrent behavior I have passed by the Cuban stand multiple times and have thought to myself ‘I want to support this man and his business.’ Today I finally had the chance. I stopped by earlier in the day when I saw him outside to ask if he was serving food that day (yes) and how I could pay. He said specifically that I did not need to bring cash and he had the square app. Three hours later my husband and I went to get some food from him, and it was a nightmare. All seemed fine as we ordered a plate of food and a couple desserts, though we both noted the $18 didn’t seem worth it for a spoonful each of beans, rice, and pork. As he began to check us out, we gave him our credit card. He asked for cash. I explained that I came earlier and explicitly asked if I could pay with a card. He then reasoned that his square wasn’t working because the ‘wind was messing with the connection’ and asked again if we had cash. We did not. He said he had ‘had a good day’ and to come back another time with the money. We tried to see if he had Venmo, PayPal, etc but he did not. My husband then went to check the car because sometimes we hide a $20 around. As he went to the car, the next people in line began to order. Unfortunately, they seemed quite annoyed at our situation. As the young woman was ordering she decided to make note (loudly) that they ‘obviously had cash’. In that moment I simply pointed out that I had stopped by earlier in the day and asked if he took cards, which was a yes. She then noted that ‘there are atms all over Boise’. At this point, I felt quite upset that someone was judging me so harshly for something that wasn’t their business, and I told her so. Her male partner then told me to ‘calm down hunny.’ Well, I’m not about that. I told him ‘don’t f*+~ing call me honey.’ Then he did again. Very quickly and violently, the man serving Cuban food jerked the food out of my hand stating that ‘I was not allowed to swear on his street corner.’ He then proceeded to say we were never allowed back and that I better not ‘go talk s*#% about him on the internet.’ Well, that’s not how the world works I suppose. People are and do horrible things, and others get blamed. I’m not here to proclaim his food taste bad or that this is a common occurrence, simply here to say it profoundly hurt me. I have such limited human interactions right now and across the board this one sucked. I do not hope that he loses business, and I sincerely don’t think unhappy people will change over night, but I do hope that people think twice where they take their patronage. Let it be where everyone is treated with respect.
