While the Gluten Free options have been tasty over the years the customer service is just gone. So sad. I was there alone had many questions as to what is and won't be available prior to closing date next month and the person that was available was rude interrupted and snappy. If you can't be kind why are you in a position like this? I came in with a warm greeting sharing condolences on the shops closure. Shared it has been a family favorite for years and you just didn't care.
Gone are the days that small business owners had excellent support staff that were excited to be at work I guess.
Sadly I just walked out.

After reading your response I just have to say... yes, as mentioned initially I did walk out. I absolutely refused to deal with your ignorance for another second. I've been going to Amaru for years and thankfully have never met you or I'm sure I would have stopped going alot sooner. If you treat people kindly you will not have them just walk out. You were rude. Snappy and not kind in your lack of attempt to answer my questions. I appreciate that you feel it necessary to call me names and refuse to accept accountability for your actions. You were not kind one bit not even when i came in...no smile, and actually seemed bothered that I was there. I feel bad the owner has you as the person interfacing with the public. Not a great representation. I am a business owner and a successful one at that. I would never have you in a position of talking with my customers. Best wishes to you. Perhaps it was a bad day but given the lack of intelligence in your response not likely.

Parking: Street parking or small lot. Not alone of space.

Went for the first time on Aug 9th, case refrigeration was not working so cupcakes weren’t on full display so initial feel and look was not great but looking at pics online I’m sure it looks nice when fully stocked. The gal working was rude, hopefully she was just having a bad day, but certainly did not represent the business well. Two of the four cupcakes we purchased were moist and good flavors (chocolate based), the other two (chai and lemon/raspberry) were tasty but very dry. Overall, the experience was subpar.

I ordered a custom cake for my daughter's first birthday, and both the cake and experience were wonderful. I ordered my cake rather late, and even with less than one week's notice, Amaru accommodated my request for a custom cake. They were friendly and helpful in the store during the ordering process, and responsive through email later on. The cake was finished on time, absolutely beautiful, and delicious, too. It was such a lovely addition to our daughter's special day!

Amazing new setup, great cakes, cupcakes, beer, wine and cider

The cupcake part is moist and delicious. The frosting is where they fall short. It leaves a greasy film in the mouth, and has very little flavor. The peanut butter frosting just tastes like buttercream. And who puts buttercream on a carrot cake cupcake? It said in the description that it is cream cheese frosting but no it sure isn’t.

I ordered 2 dozen mini cupcakes for a baby shower. When they brought them out, I noticed they were all different sizes and lopsided. 4 of them had different paper around them. I mentioned to the young gals that they didn't look right and she said that is the way they are. I took photos and sent them to the person who referred this bakery to me and he was apalled! When I got back home, I decided to eat one of the ugly ones. It broke apart as I tried to take it out of the wrapper. It was dry and not flavorful. I called back in to the store and asked that the owner call me. On Sat morning, I send an email to the owner explaining how disappointed I was and received no response. I also sent her photos of the cupcakes. I paid $42 for horrible mini cupcakes. A couple people at the party ate one and said they were dry and didn't have any flavor (strawberry). See photos below...you can decide for yourself!

We wanted a small lambeth style cake for our wedding in our hyper saturated colors and Amaru nailed it. Also, best tasting cake we’ve both had (lemon with raspberry purée and champagne buttercream!). We’ve fought over the last piece!

I ordered a wedding cake and cupcakes from Amaru confections. At the tasting appointment I showed the cake decorator photos of what was expected. She said she could absolutely do the cake with a few changes to the actual image on the cake. We ordered the cake to be delivered between 2:00 and 2:30 and received a calendar event for 2 PM, so we were expecting it to arrive at 2:00 PM. when the cake arrived, it was an hour late. Again, I did request 2-2:30, but due to their calendar event, I moved things to match their time. The cake arrived just after 3 PM. When the delivery man sat the cake down on the table, it was not what we expected. I let him know that it was not what we ordered, but there was nothing we could do. When I let him know nicely he was late, he responded with, "well at least it arrived in good shape." The cake itself was nice, but when you spend close to $1000.00 for the cake and cupcakes, you expect to get what you ordered. The decorations looked like a kid did them and fondue slapped on the side. When we let the owner know, she refunded us $15.00, half of the delivery fee. The owner also told me they were only 30 minutes late and that I never showed the decorator a photo of what was expected. However, I did. We did approve a drawing of the changes we wanted, but didn't expect fondue slapped on a cake. I did let the owner know I would be giving a negative review and she said "Go ahead". This was my daughters wedding and the cake is an important part of the experience for her. No accountability at all. First picture is what was expected, second is what was received.

I have always been a fan of Amaru and thought they had the best cakes in Boise. A few days ago I went in for an assortment of cupcakes for a birthday. The lady was pretty rude and acted like I was wasting her time while I was there. She was not friendly or helpful at all. We had the cupcakes last night and they had absolutely no taste. The frosting tasted like very bland buttercream, even though we had a variety of flavors. Chocolate tasted like shortening with a hint of chocolate. Not a great experience at all. For the expense, I expected to be blown away as I had been before.

We got a gender reveal cake from Amaru and it was perfection! So beautiful and so tasty!!! I also have a ton of allergies so finding a bakery that could do gluten free and vegan?! Unreal. Couldn’t taste a difference. Customer service was also great to work with.

This experience was all around very disappointing. I truly thought my cake tasting was scheduled for 2:30, but it was actually at 2. TOTALLY MY FAULT. So I arrived at 2:16, (thinking I was early), said we were there for a tasting, and she was immediately annoyed and had an attitude while informing me that I was late. I was, of course, confused and disappointed as I thought the appointment started at 2:30. Despite this, I remained very nice and only tried to clarify the situation and understand what had happened. She treated me like I was not worth her time and rushed me to reschedule. I plan to move out of state soon, so it was not an option for me to reschedule, but I didn’t bother to explain since she seemed less than understanding in that moment. Despite being the only customers there (my sister and I) and having over 40 minutes left in our time slot, the staff member refused to let us taste the samples, citing preparations were being made for the next appointment at 3. Each business has its process, so I understand. Without the employee offering it as an option, my sister asked if we could take the cakes to go, and she packed the sample cakes up for us. After taking the cakes home and sampling them, I would say they were less than impressive, but the lemon cake was actually FANTASTIC. However, considering the high price points, less than impressive cake, unnecessary rude behavior and a general lack of customer service, I do not plan to use this bakery for my wedding, nor will I recommend them. Like I said, it is my fault that the times got confused, but the response from the company was what really rubbed me the wrong way. I am certain my small wedding cake order does not mean much to this seemingly successful business lol. But good customer service can go a long way…
