Wonderful brunch, attentive service from opening the door for us all the way thru to ordering, eating, and payment. Wonderful food. We will be back!
Second time to Avery. Was disappointed on this visit. Sat in a narrow aisle in center of two pathways. Busy and loud hard to visit together. Food was underwhelming. Very small portion of beef for $40. Had to buy an app and salad separately glad I did because the main meal was tiny. Flavor was good but not great. Service was fine. Dessert flourless choc cake was not good. Stale and did not seem house made; it seemed like it was just bought from a store and put in fridge. I expected it to be warm but was cold and hard. Coffee was decent.
We had a fantastic experience at Avery over President's Day weekend. The service was very professional. From the time when we were seated, wine service, entree suggestions, silverware replacement, wine refilling, we had and top tier attention through dessert. We ordered oysters, the crab cake, the mushroom soup, the toasted sourdough, the Sole and the Beef Bourguignon. For dessert, we ordered the Maple bread pudding, Creme Brulee, and the Pistachio Souffle. All were excellent! The ambiance is gorgeous with exquisite historic details from this building's heyday in the 1920s. The milk glass chandeliers are truly beautiful. We will be back!
Everything was good. Our server came over and told us after 35 minutes of waiting for our food that he forgot to put our order in. That was disappointing, but we were comped 13.04 off of our mimosa carne. I would go back
We attended the Valentine's Day event for two with an 8:45 PM reservation and arrived around 8:30 PM. Unfortunately, we weren't seated until about 9:30 PM, which made for a long wait. That said, the food was delicious and the service once seated was excellent. The courses were well executed and clearly thoughtfully prepared. The dining room did feel a bit cramped in terms of table spacing, but overall the experience was positive. Because it was nearing midnight by the time dessert (the 4th course) came around, we asked to have it boxed to go. We had already moved quickly through the earlier courses, so the timing was the main challenge. I would absolutely return to try the regular menu. I just think the event booking and pacing could be handled more efficiently in the future. The long wait had slightly soured the experience and we could tell it had affected many other guests as well.
Wait for food was unbearable 3 1/2 hrs until main course. Understand it was Valentine's Day Saturday night but this was a disaster.
The food was absolutely incredible and definitely 5 stars. Sadly they seemed to have overbooked their Valentine's Day so were running very behind. Our reservation was at 8:30 and we weren't seated until 9:30 and lots of us were awkwardly squished in the front door area. Once we were seated our server was there right away and we ordered and got our appetizers quickly but our first course (of 4) didn't come out till 10:30. We finished dinner at 12:30am which is definitely late for us. The wait staff did apologize and were attentive but it would've been nice to at least been comped a drink or appetizer. 4 hours is a long time for a four course meal + appetizer. Overall the food ALMOST made up for the wait and once they get their timing down they'll be wonderful.
We reserved a table for the Valentines Day menu. We booked weeks ahead for 8 pm and we weren't sat at a table until 8:40 and didn't get our first drink until 9. We got sat right by the door, and since they were so backed up it felt like dining in a crowd of people. It was also cold and the tables were so small and close together that it made for an uncomfortable experience. We didn't get much of an apology or acknowledgement for how behind they were, just, "thanks for your patience." The food was fantastic and we enjoyed every course, but I find it really surprising that they didn't comp a drink or maybe an appetizer for how late they were. If they had done any small gesture like that this would probably still be a five-star review due to our enjoyment of the food. We didn't leave the restaurant until 11:30. I think the Avery over-exerted themselves on Valentines Day and it's a shame they didn't try to do right by their patrons.
We went on Valentines day for the Pre Fixe menu. The kitchen was backed up and service was very slow even for drinks. The entire meal took at least 2 1/2 hours with 1/2 hour to 45 minutes between courses. The food was OK at best, with the steaks being on the tough side. Overall a disappointing experience and not worth the price.
We've been to The Avery several times and have always been impressed. It one of our go-to nice nights out. Last nights Valentine meal was definatelty not The Avery at its best. We saw two couples leave early, one of our dishes was cold and overall we believed The Avery bit off more than they could chew last night. The kitchen had tickets piled up and the servers did their best, but it just wasnt an awesome experience. Im writing this review in hopes that anyone who joined them for the Valentines Prefix meal consider giving them another chance. Last night was not typical and we have always had an amazing experience.

Valentines Day - I understand but the seating was so close it was comical. Made my reservation in early January before the menu was even out and was still sat in Tiner's instead (pun) side. Not a $500 dinner atmosphere in the pub. Between the soup/salad corse and the second course we waited for over an hour. The server apologized three times during the hour + Dinner took us 3 hours. I have no idea how they managed their later reservations if everyone had similar experience Food - great Drinks - great Packed in too many tables, too close together and they clearly couldn't handle the covers or the pacing We'll keep going - just not on any special occasion where they might have a similar set up.
The food was amazing. The servers were friendly and helpful. The wait time was a bit long between courses. Overall I recommend it to everyone who wants to try an excellent meal from an excellent chef!
Excellent food, nice atmosphere, great service. Bottle of Soutiran champagne rose was perfect
Wonderful dinner experience and excellent service with Chelsea. It was quiet, perfect for having conversation with dinner. It was a little cool, might have only been due to us seated close to door. Overall, was great dinner and we will be back and recommend to friends and family.
The best of Boise is right here! Thank you for a perfect night. Easily our favorite restaurant in town. Excellent dinner and service, as always—We absolutely love Chelsea! Everything was amazing from start to finish.
