Really good food. Food service was a touch slow, but I think that had more to do with the odd time we went in.
Overall, 5 star.

I ordered a plate so I could try the tri tip, the pulled pork and the ribs.
The tri tip was overcooked, the pulled pork was dry and needed BBQ sauce (which isn't homemade) and the ribs were burnt.
The service was sporadic and slow. The server only brought one meal at a time.
Overall it was a complete disappointment. The doughnut place next door is amazing!

The wait staff was very friendly and did an awesome job. Food was really good. We purchased a pulled pork salad and fries that I asked to be crispy and were awesome! Then he got a tri-tip sandwich with BBQ sauce and mac&cheese on the sandwich. He LOVED it. He also got a side of the baked beans that were ok. The milkshake was ok, it was too thin for my taste. I also got the gluten free & vegan dessert, a lemon bar. Which was really good and not too sweet. There were many vegan or gluten free options. Their vegan meat they use is smoked tempeh, and they have a house made veggie burger. The food took around 25 minutes or so to get to our table with very few other customers. So may take longer during regular busy hours. All-in-all, check it out!

Incredible Vegan BBQ in Boise!
BBQ4Life was the first vegan-friendly stop we hit in Boise, and it blew us away! I was there with my wife and two daughters, and we were all impressed. It’s a full-on BBQ joint with amazing vegan options. We had the vegan chili, BBQ nachos, Philly sandwiches, and caramel vegan milkshakes - WOW. The vegan bread pudding was absolutely phenomenal. Khara, our waitress, was so kind and helpful. A must-visit for any vegan food lover in Boise!

Our family is always on the hunt for local spots when traveling and BBQ4Life did not disappoint!
We had the pulled pork burger, pulled pork sandwiches, and 2 kids meals (grilled cheese and a burger). All the portions were great! The meats and sauce are 10/10. They have a great sweet tea and the kids enjoyed their strawberry lemonade. It's hard to find good vegan food (dairy intolerance in our family) and this place has THE BEST vegan desserts! We tried 3. Really, they are THAT good. We had the seasonal vegan bread pudding, vegan chocolate cake, and vegan lemon bar. All homemade and it shows <3
Kid friendly, a nice clean bathroom, and friendly staff. We will definitely be stopping here again when we're back in Boise!

YIKES! This place should be absolutely ashamed to call this BBQ. When I pay $30 for ribs so I don’t have to do it at home they better be perfect and these were hands down the worst ribs I’ve had in my LIFE. These ribs were drier than a mummy fart and of equal quality. The one thing that I am grateful for is that they don’t attempt brisket because if it’s anything like how they cook ribs it would be a crime against food.
Pulled pork was not even cooked to where the connective tissue breaks down (which here is a free lesson, it’s 204 after it’s wrapped and pushed past the stall it’s called a Texas Punch) so their lack of care or knowledge resulted in pork that was stringy and chewy. It seems that there is so little care for the food here you probably go by a timer instead of an instant read.
I thought about reaching out to the owner but all his replies seem to be blame shifted or passively dismissive. After that travesty of BBQ I felt it was more important to let people know rather than let them save face.
I don’t want to hurt your business with this review but you have A LOT of issues going on there and none of it is good.
I am absolutely pissed about how much those ribs cost and what I got for it. I can’t believe they’ve been around as long as they have maybe their vegan options? If so that is a sad reality for a BBQ place. I believe if they don’t make a dramatic change in their quality assurance or hire a pitmaster who actually knows BBQ I don’t expect them to be around.
Sorry but you have the worst BBQ in Boise.

Everything was great about this place, except the price for the amount of food you get. That is mostly an opinion I know. I didnt expect to pay $70 for 2 people to eat.

Great spot tucked away and low key. Go straight for the tri-tip, it is phenomenal! A milkshake for dessert and you've got a meal. Kenn, thanks for putting an upbeat end to a dreary Monday, appreciate you!

Waylon Boicourt. The man of the place. Spectacular. Pulled pork with Mac and cheese squished with French toast. The perfect sandwich. It’s childhood. Thank you. I love you.

Terrific “best of all worlds” BBQ experience! They have delicious traditional BBQ staples such as tri-tip and ribs, but also some non-traditional items, as well. What is extra cool about BBQ4LIFE is that they have an extensive VEGAN menu, which my vegan daughter says was sensational. The vegan chocolate cake dessert was also stellar.
Our server, Nina, was wonderful and friendly and gave us some great recommendations when ordering.
This place is a true BBQ gem!

This place is KEY for those with food sensitivity such as gluten or dairy. When I tell you the food is already amazing that’s an understatement. I have never seen ribs that huge in portions and meat literally falling off the bone and melt in your mouth. The vegan Mac and cheese, pulled pork nachos, vegan potato salad?!! Like no one can master really yummy vegan gluten free Mac and cheese and let me tell you this is the closest equivalent to the non-gf or non-vegan you will find. There are TONS of options here and I flew in for business from Phoenix and am so glad I had the chance to try this gem of a place. I’ve been gf and dairy free for 9 years and traveling with those restrictions is always a hassle but this lovely place had an assortment of deliciousness. So much so that i had dinner and grabbed lunch the following day before flying out. And the staff there is so personable, just lovely to chat with. They really offer you that small-town charm without being in a small town where it was obvious some of their regulars were enjoying lunch same time as I. And the price point was absolutely reasonable with portions far larger than anyone else ever considers. Do not pass this place up on amazing bbq and assortments of yummy sides and deserts. Looking forward to visiting again next time I am there!
