you haven’t been to Bikes and Beans, you’re missing one of Boise’s hidden gems. Andrew, the owner, is flat-out awesome — the kind of guy who knows your name, your bike, and your favorite coffee order. Speaking of coffee… hands down, this is some of the best coffee in Boise — maybe the best I’ve ever had (and I take my caffeine seriously).
The bike side is just as impressive. I’ve managed to mess up my electric bike more times than I can count, and these guys have had it fixed quick, every single time. Whatever they repair stays fixed — and that’s saying a lot. They know their stuff and treat every customer like a regular.
It’s the kind of place that makes you want to hang out — grab a killer cup of coffee, talk bikes, and leave in a better mood than you came in. One of my favorite spots in Boise, no question about it. Do yourself a favor and check it out — once you go, it’ll be your new go-to too.
They might not want me to say this, but this is a primo cafe to settle in and get a lot of work/studying done. Lots of table and outlets, strong wifi, delicious coffee, good ambient noise from the bike shop.
I took my Rad bike to Bikes and Beans to have the controller replaced. I spoke to Dave before taking my bike in because I had a friend who didn’t have a great experience with Bikes and Beans a year or so ago. But since Rad had recommended Bikes and Beans, and Dave was able to answer all of my questions and address my concerns I went ahead and took the bike in. I am 100% Satisfied with the work that they did. The bike was ready the same day I took it in and I even got a few small maintenance items checked while I was there. Also got good tips on properly managing the battery and electrical system for the Rad bike. I will definitely be using bikes and beans for all future maintenance on my bike!
There's coffee is delicious and their bike knowledge is awesome! Came in with a question and they answered professionally, even tightened my breaks for free.
Bikes and Beans is the best place in Boise and Idaho for all your biking needs. Always great coffee and great service!
Absolutely terrible espresso. Super acidic! I have had espresso all over the world. This is the worst espresso I've had in a very long time. It is really not her fault. Very nice girl working the machine. She clearly was not trained on the Why. She Has no idea what she's doing and has no idea why she's doing it. Someone just told her to stand there and sell horribly overpriced espresso. $5 for a shot of espresso is absurd. Maybe if you bury the espresso in a mocha with three shots of some flavored syrup, you might not taste how terrible it is. If you don't know how to pull a straight shot then just don't do it. Everybody nowadays is hung up on the timing and the weight and the ratio. At some point you need to start training. Old school look, smell, listen, taste and feel.
I had a thru-axle emergency and this crew went above and beyond to get me what I needed! Great vibe, awesome shop, and excellent customer service. If you need anything for your mountain bike, this is the place to go!
Incredible coffee, incredible service, incredible people.
Passing through town with a broken rim, decided to stop in for a coffee and Andrew was able to get my bike rolling again while we waited!
Great shop. Awesome prices for bike repair and better than great coffee. If you want someone who will take the time to ask the right questions with the goal to get you the very best solution that fits your budget, this is the place to go.

Had an accident and needed some help adjusting my bike. Got quick help, and a good price.
Andrew, thank you for the time and attention that you gave my wife and I last week when shopping for a bike. We walked in the store unsure of the exact bike that we needed and you listened to us and helped pick a bike that met all of those needs. There was no pressure to the buying experience and your knowledge was exceptional. You even gave us a good deal. I highly recommend Bikes & Beans.
Tina and Andrew are amazing people, and their coffee/bike shop is a valley staple. I had an old Schwin bike that other bike shops said they couldn't work on. Andrew had me bring it in. He was able to restore the bike and make custom fenders. I absolutely love this bike. Their coffee is super high quality and very delicious. They make a matcha latte that is the closest thing to the ones we had in Japan. Please support this amazing local business, you won't regret it.
I went in to buy a part for my son's bike (never again) I asked for a derailure that's for a 7 speed rear gear set the guy insisted I would be better off bringing the bike so he could install the part
Obviously bicycle technology is beyond grasp I could see him getting visibly frustrated that I didn't want to pay him for a service my 10 year old son can perform
Really bummed this place wasn’t what I hoped it was. Tried for the first time, friendly service and good coffee, but the prices are seriously off from the valley’s top coffee shops. A latte is $5.50, oat milk is an extra $1.50 (way more than others!), 2 of the 3 espresso beans are an extra $1 charge (and the one that wasn’t an extra charge wasn’t available). Comes out to almost $9 for oat milk latte. Quality didn’t justify the price unfortunately.
