I went for a drink before an event downtown. It was my birthday so I asked what desserts they offered. When the bartender said tiramisù, I said yes. It was actually some bizarre variant with orange and coconut. Inedible. After 15 minutes, he still didn't notice that I had taken only 3 bites and pushed it away. All in all, an experience that I will not repeat.Good atmosphere but not worth it if the service is poor.

Great little spot!! Delicious tastings from around the world. I was impressed by their foreign wines. It is a bit pricey for a medium glass of high end wine, but everything I've ever drank here tasted fresh and unspoiled, which is crucial when dealing with uncorked wine. Restaurant staff is super friendly and fast!! Good vibes and private atmosphere with the high back couches. Food was just meh, I wouldn't recommend the Shoyu Ramen.

Visiting Boise for a week, I did t expect to find this wine and sushi bar. I’ve seen similar concepts in other cities, but the variety and diversity in their wine taps is excellent. Once you get your work e tap car with money on it, just try the wines you like. Pay for sips or pay for pours with the card. Their happy hour selection was ok, but everything else was fantastic. Love the set up, ambiance and charm. Staff was really friendly and attentive. We ordered some sushi and a few other appetizers to snack on while we enjoyed a lot of wine. I’m definitely coming back for dinner to try more from the menu .

Helen was a superstar! Great service!. Literally knew our needs wants and desires. Seriously, knew before we knew what we wanted on the menu. Literally made our night. Seriously, had no idea service could be this 5 star type service. I’m blown away. If I had 6 stars I’d use it. Just wow.

I normally save my reviews for the greats, but we were so disappointed after wanting to come here for years. Beautiful space and service was okay...slow, but they were busy and we had someone newish (who got little support). The wine was good, but pricey (understandable for the concept and location), the food was terrible. We ordered Ramen which came out nearly flavorless, no egg (they were out but didn't tell us or charge less), and the noodles were al dente spaghetti noodles. We took a couple bites and just left hungry. I thought it was a safe bet since they served sushi and the price tag was steep, but I was very mistaken.

I've been coming to Bodovino since it opened and love it. Didn't go for awhile for a number of reasons but my husband and I went recently for an after dinner drink. My only complaint is the decor - it used to be so cozy in there but they added this obnoxiously bright lighted wall behind the bar. It feels so out of place with the rest of the ambiance and looks so cheap actually.

Great food. The sushi bar is my favorite. The wine is a little bit pricey. I would love to recommend my friends to Bodovino when they visit Boise.

After giving this place an honest try (visited Bodovino 3 times in the past two weeks), I do not recommend this restaurant. On the first go, it took close to 2 hours to get 4 rolls. The food was very delicious, but this is far too long for an order that small. On the 2nd visit, we waited about an hour and a half again, only to be told the fridge broke and we couldn't be served (I understand this is nobody's fault in particular), however, our waitress was not attentive and didn't circle back with our table until she told us we couldn't eat.The third visit was by far the most unacceptable. Our waitress didn't give us napkins/water/chopsticks/silverware till long after serving food, got the dinner order wrong, didn't ask to refill our waters even once all night despite them being empty for the 1.5 hours we waited for food, and as aforementioned, it took around 1.5 hours to make 3 small dishes. The restaurant was nearly empty at the time. The table next to us had been there even longer and commented on how the wait times were not reasonable. Also, after a clear night of poor service, our waitress took our card and proceeded to eat food behind the counter instead of getting the card back to us. Some staff members just don't seem to care about professionalism and a sense of urgency towards customers who have clearly received poor customer service. While I do think the concept here is cool/unique and the food is also good, the wait times are terrible and the service is lackluster. For the money I've spent here in the last two weeks, I'd expect much better. I would not recommend spending your time here unless you are only going to have wine.

STAY AWAY! Server was ok but after going there to have sushi, sat down ordered drinks and put in our order. After waiting 30 min server told us at 7:35pm on a Friday the sushi chef decided he wasn't going to make anymore sushi. Bartender comped us the drinks but what horrible service to a patron. Wait for sushi 30 min and decide you are not making anymore. Won't ever be back first and last time to lose business.

So, we came here for the sushi. We're fairly new to the area and finding decent sushi has proven to be difficult in this area.We got a table quickly, place looks nice enough.I was going back and forth on the menu between the veggie Congo Roll and the Citrus Roll, both were similar flavors, but the one I ordered, the Citrus Roll, was from the "Signature" part of the menu. I was very clear about ordering it. My husband heard me specifically order a Citrus Roll. He remembers because he wanted a bite too! When the server returned with our sushi rolls, I was instead served the veggie Congo Roll. I questioned the order and told her that this was not the roll that I ordered, and she started to argue with me. She said the Congo Roll was what it was I ordered, and then she referred to the fact that I ordered it from the Signature menu. I didn't want to argue with her, so I ate the roll, but if this server would have double checked the menu, she would have seen that under the signature roll part of the menu, there lies the CITRUS ROLL, which is what I ordered and did not get.The veggie roll was ok, but obviously not what I ordered. Regardless, though, I was really surprised she started arguing with a customer. Even if I were wrong (I wasn't), it's her job to make sure I'm happy and that I get the food I want, even if it means remaking the roll. And, just FYI, my hubs had a tempera shrimp roll that he really liked, so the 3 stars balances out our shared experience. Probably won't be back.
