One of the waitresses was very rude and racist towards one of my family members who had a medical condition where she cannot eat spice . She called her a gringo and said she should not come to Mexican restaurant if u can’t handle spice . I will not eat at this location again .

We moved to Boise in late 2021 and had dinner at Chapalas in early 2022. We really enjoyed our dinner and because we did we visited a couple more times in 2022, we even asked for a gift certificate from our son for Christmas which we received I on Christmas 2022. We started an extensive remodel on our home which required us to move out and the remodel took the entire year. During that time we spent much of the year in Arizona. We finally moved back into our home in January of 2024 and decided to use our gift certificate a couple of weeks ago but we were shocked that it expired in May 2023!!! Basically the gift card was only good for 5 month?!?! Ridiculous! We will never go back to Chapalas and we will stop recommending the restaurant. We have received many restaurant gift cards and none of them have an expiration date. We are appalled and disappointed that our son spent good money and now it’s worth nothing! Really poor management . You’ve lost our business.

This is a go to for us. Every time we come up to the Boise area, we go out of our way. The staff is super friendly, and even remembers where we come from the food is very authentic and lots of choices on their menu.

Food was okay. Chicken was dry in my enchiladas. Everything tasted fine it just wasn't anything special. The servers were excellent. Interacted great with the toddler at the table. It was so cute.
