Pleasantly surprised on how great the food was. Wife and I had the reuben, pastrami, and shared a small pretzel. Both sandwiches were great. Meaty, flavorful and generous. The pretzel was mid. But my wife did love the cheese sauce. Overall, looking forward to coming back soon.

It would be nice to get some better seating arrangements but understandable since this is a deli style experience.

Staff is helpful and friendly! Food is delicious! The deli has a dozen or so fresh options and the market is basically a little grocery store! So many things to choose from!

Great food. Schnitzel and bratwurst are really good. They are separate meals but I'm a good eater so I order both meals and I'm never disappointed. German beers on tap, but also many to choose from that are cold and room temp (if you prefer Deutsche style temperature). There are a few tables inside that accommodate about 30 people max (4 large tables and 3 tables for 2) and then a few outside that could accommodate about 14 people (mostly tables for 2). You bus your own plates, which I guess is fine, but you also don't pay for the service either, so it's fine. You order your meal at the counter, pay, and your gratuity would only go towards them bringing you your order to your table and the quality of the food. So for that reason I usually tip 15% rather than my customary 20-25% that I would normally for more full service. The price of the food is very reasonable. For my two entres (which I order with pommes...aka, French fries) and my liter of beer, I paid $45. Beer I believe was $12 of that, so the meals separate would be about $15, roughly speaking. I do recommend the curry ketchup with the pommes. It is really good. I've been to this restaurant 4 times (dinner and lunch) as of this writing and have gone with a small group of 6 three of those times. Pleasant atmosphere. Don't expect the food right away like from McDonald's. Everything is made to order. There are other menu options and side dishes you can buy from the deli, but I haven't explored those yet. I will. My wife had the red cabbage, which she ate all of and enjoyed. There is one bathroom, so you may wait a moment. There are German dry food items for purchase as well, but I also haven't explored. My only regret is not having tried this place sooner.

We love the food, but the last three times we have gone there we felt like we were treated rudely by staff. So, thank you....next.

We traveled here from North Carolina and found this place by looking at Google maps for German Restaurants. This is a little gem! The food, we had Schnitzel and Fries, was great! This was nice and thin and very tender. The owner was a joy to talk to and the available meats and sweets, breads, and general groceries, as well as selection of beers and wines was awesome. Needless to say, to took a lot longer to leave than we thought. We would be regular customers if we lived closer.

God, the pork schnitzel is perfect.

The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and so were the fries. The employees were very friendly. Of course we couldn't leave without getting some German chocolate Milka bars and sausage. Rated by a guy from Idaho

Parking: It depends on the time of day. Very few spots open for parking. We had to park in the parking lot next door.

WOW. That reuben just ruined all others for eternity. Other level delicious!!! at first glance, wrapped to go-- looked a bit small. Oh no. It was an illusion. Thick sandwich with the best rye I've ever had, the sauerkraut was generous, herbaceous and sublime, the Swiss had gorgeous pull and creamy nutty flavor. The mustard was fantastic. The pastrami was thin cut and juicy with a perfect sear on the edges. Thank god I ate it in my car where no one could hear my ridiculous yummy noises. Succulent, hearty, flavorful and yet afterwards it doesn't leave a heavy feeling. Just a happy memory of sandwich perfection.

This place used to be great. I’m allergic to gluten and soy, and they used to be very accommodating, willing to check ingredients for customers. It’s important because some of their products change, so you need to ask questions when they do. But now they either won’t answer your questions and act like you’re a problem if you have allergies, or they just tell you that everything has gluten and soy in it (which I know for certain is not true). I lived in Europe, including Austria, for years, so it used to be one of my favorite places in Boise. But for the last 3 times I have consistently been treated like a nuisance for needing to ask a question or two. I hope the owner pays attention to reviews and does something about it because food allergies are a widespread issue, and he’s marginalizing a lot of potential customers.
