Worst cake EVER…..Ordered a cake for wife’s 65th birthday. I was quoted a price and was charged an extra $15 at pickup because I requested HAPPY BIRTHDAY on top of the cake. There was 12 of us for the party. Not one person could finish their piece of cake. I called for a refund and was rudely refused. Tossed all the uneaten $65 cake in the trash where it belongs. Good riddance and never again!

Unless it's changed and actually looks like the photos, a few years ago when I went in, I wouldn't purchase their food. And most recently, some old rude guy came out and yelled at the business employees next door and apparently his appearance was not one I would like to be touching any food. I've also been told the aroma was like a bakery but not an appetizing aroma. The good reviews, must be from people who haven't had many opportunities to go to a real bakery.

Found this place through promotional ad online, glad we tried them out. Ordered 2 custom cakes within the last 4 months. Only spoke over the phone about the design idea and was blown away in the intricate detail and creativity Heather made. Beautiful cakes and delicious also. They do not skimp on the size and quantity. The owner is a hoot, and makes you feel like one of the family.

The eclair is hard and old tasted, like it made a two or three day before. Ditto the cream puff. Very disappointing:(

I’m very disappointed in my recent experience with Granny C’s Bakery. I ordered a custom birthday cake for my granddaughter — the second cake we’ve purchased here after a wonderful one last year. Unfortunately, this year’s cake was completely different from what was ordered and fell far short of professional standards. The design I requested featured a smooth fondant finish, fondant Scottie dogs, and a small pink doghouse (as shown in the reference photo). What I received was a roughly frosted buttercream cake with paper cutouts for dogs, uneven writing that ran off the side, and sloppy piping on the doghouse. It looked nothing like the design I ordered and was frankly embarrassing for what was meant to be a special celebration. When I reached out to the bakery, I was told that their fondant was “dry, oily, and unworkable,” so they decided on their own to switch to buttercream and edible paper instead. I was never informed of this change or given the opportunity to approve or cancel the order. That is not acceptable business practice. A professional bakery should either communicate issues immediately or ensure they can deliver what was promised. The bakery has also refused a refund, stating that because my daughter picked up the cake and said it looked “fine,” there is no recourse. However, my daughter did not place the order and had no idea what the design was supposed to look like. She was simply doing me a favor by picking it up — and had she known how far off it was, she never would have accepted it. Although the cake itself tasted good, the lack of communication, accountability, and professional integrity left us extremely disappointed. I’m sharing this review so others are aware: presentation and honesty matter as much as flavor. Sadly, I can no longer recommend Granny C’s Bakery based on how this situation was handled. Condensed Google/Yelp Review I ordered a custom fondant cake with fondant Scottie dogs and a pink doghouse for my granddaughter’s birthday. What I received was a roughly frosted buttercream cake with paper cutouts, uneven writing, and decorations that looked nothing like what I ordered. I was later told their fondant was “dry, oily, and unworkable,” so they made substitutions without notifying me — an unacceptable decision from a professional bakery. To make matters worse, they refused a refund, saying my daughter “approved” the cake when she picked it up. She didn’t place the order and had no idea what it was supposed to look like. The lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism was shocking, especially after last year’s perfect cake. Sadly, I can’t recommend Granny C’s Bakery after this experience.

Photos show what I ordered (fondant decorated cake) and what I received (unprofessionally thickly frosted mess)
We love their homemade biscuits and gravy, and they did an amazing job on my husband's birthday cake. Very friendly and welcoming.

I have only ever ordered special cakes from this place but every single time Heather comes through for me and she is my official/unofficial “cake lady”! They just get better and better. I trust her to take a concept and make it her own or to make exactly what I am looking for with inspiration photos. She also always gives me fantastic customer service which is extra because I am a last minute, high maintenance customer.

We love this little bakery and the family that owns it. If you want some of the best bakery items, they offer the most decadent sweets and savory baked goods. Homemade biscuits and gravy is a favorite of my family topped off with a peanut butter and chocolate cupcake or cinnamon roll and a coffee. We drive 30 minutes because it's worth it. Give them a try and get there early because they are so good that they run out of some items.

Shame on Brad Deboer for yelling and cussing in The Chef Store yesterday. Grow up.
