Wow, the food here is incredible -- perfectly balanced, delicious flavors and we didn’t find anything too salty contrary to some other recent reviews (and I’m salt sensitive). Kind staff, and just blown away by the food (and we are from a city with *many* great vegan options). The gyro, breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, broccoli cheddar soup, and summer salad were all excellent. We are driving back through on our road trip in the reverse direction this weekend and cannot wait to enjoy High Note’s excellent menu again! Five stars! Updated from previous review on 2025-06-21

Everything on the menu is fantastic! This is our go to restaurant in Boise. We love being able to choose from the whole menu without worry. The food is fantastic, special shout-out to the gyro, the artichoke dip, and potato leek soup! Absolutely check them out if you are in the area!

While I certainly was able to enjoy my meal, especially in the beginning, over time I really started noticing how the food didn’t settle too well into my body. I think it’s because it just wasn’t well balanced. The mash and gravy was waaaaay too coconutty. And I usually do like coconut flavor but it really was so overpowering in not a good way. The sandwiches also initially tasted nice but then I realized how little filling was in the bruschetta one. While the French dip was quite yum but also super salty, the bruschetta could’ve used some of that salt. Also, I would’ve actually liked thick pieces of mozzarella in there, not paper-thin ones. I liked the caeser salad but it got too acidic when eating more of it. I’m usually not that sensitive to saltiness, acidity etc. but the more I ate, the more it got to me; so it might be different depending on your level of sensitivity. Maybe something else could’ve convinced me taste wise, the nachos on a neighboring table looked absolutely amazing for example, but there was no time since I’m traveling through town. Overall, the balance of flavors can be improved. Service was average and friendly, they didn’t seem as experienced yet.

The service was friendly, but the food really missed the mark. We had the French dip sandwich and the bruschetta grilled cheese. The Seitan had a great texture, but the flavors were just not there. I found the dip to just be salty in a way that overpowered the subtleness of the herbs. The mashed potatoes with gravy was also overpowered by the coconut. It was so imbalanced that we found it barely edible. The Cesar salad was characterized by its sour dressing- again being overshadowed by a single taste. Only the bruschetta GC was okay. We did add salt and ev olive oil though. I attempted to exchange at least one of the dishes, but the server wasn’t willing to aid us. Over all, this is the only vegan restaurant in town so I get that the bar may be low, but we should reach higher to encourage others to go vegan. We were grateful to have a meal, but I would not return.

The cucumber pistachio juice was an unexpected delightful and refreshing combination! We had the gyro, chips and hummus, along with a Caesar salad. All were delicious with the gyro rising to exceptional, better than the original meat version. The real treasure here though is the staff and the wonderful vibe of this darling little place.

We had to come back twice it was so good. The breakfast sandwich and blueberry pancakes were awesome. The best tofu egg scramble yet and best blueberry pancakes so far.

Stopped by here for brunch and it didn’t disappoint. The food is made from scratch and is delicious. Large portions. Soups, salads, breakfast, quite a few options. The interior was not really my vibe, kind of dark, small, intimate, and no windows besides the front ones, but I’m sure when they have outdoor seating open it’s nice.

Everything is homemade from scratch and it shows. Their bread and pesto sandwich are my favorite!

We ordered Scramble, blueberry pancake and tomato basil soup. Loved the scramble! Pancakes were delicious a not too sweet, perfect, husband particularly enjoyed the strawberry sauce. My toast and soup was nice - slightly on the sweeter side, so I had to put little salt in it to enhance taste - the toast was nice, if you are trying to eat healthy this is not the place but you will enjoy the calories you get here. Recommend!! #Veganuary

Great place, excellent menu selection and service. I had the Grilled Cheese Bruschetta sandwich. It is out of this world. Every item on the menu is well priced with good selection. Welcoming atmosphere, plenty of seating,to go available.

Stopped in on a short trip to Boise, and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Our server was friendly, service was fast, and the food was fantastic. If you’re a plant eater in Boise, you shouldn’t sleep on this place. The seitan Gyro sandwich alone was worth the drive!

Not the sexiest menu, but everything I've tried has been very tasty

As good or better than any vegan breakfast/comfort food restaurant I've eaten at in LA, Portland, San Francisco, and Seattle.
I've taken family who are omnivores there on two separate occasions for breakfast and they've been surprised at how good the food is.
And Tom is a great waiter!
