This was our first time coming to il Sugo & we had a great time. My son got the Chicken Parmigiana, my husband ordered the Chicken Carbonara & I had the Bolognese, all really good! Our waiter was so friendly & all the staff were great. Really recommend!

Staying in Boise for the week and we've eaten here 2 nights- it's that good- especially compared to all the other good restaurants. Our 1st night we had 3 dishes- pasta w/ the spicy Arrabbiata, Bolognese, and the filet mignon. All 3 dishes were fabulous! Never would have ordered the filet sauce, but the waiter recommended it and it was AMAZING! You need to eat here!!!!!!!

This place is the BOMB. Their Caesar salad (I know basic) is to die for. Fresh crispy with large slices of fresh parm? Yum-my. The pasta is absolute amazing and the bruschetta is so beautiful (almost too beautiful to eat- almost). Do yourself a favor and order the bruschetta and a salad if you're feeling light you'll leave more than satisfied.

Wow. Walked in randomly off of the street and didn't know what to expect. Cozy restaurant, great service (one server for the entire restaurant and he was doing great!) and exceptional food. I had the pasta special - caprese/pesto/tomato/mozzarella dish. Fantastic. If I lived in Boise I'd be back more often!

Authentic Italian, exceptional service. The bruschetta is phenomenal! Can’t wait to go back.

My lady and I stopped by here on a whim on a Wednesday evening. And we couldn't have been more impressed! Not only was our service spot l, his company fun and enjoyable. The food was absolutely amazing, we enjoyed the mussels, caprese salad, their filet mignon pasta and topped it off with a rather delightful dessert! With an experience like thisbwe will most certainly be back again and again. Thank you!!

Came here on a whim and glad we did! Service was excellent and food was delicious! I had the deconstructed lasagna and I ate the whole thing! Will come back when I'm in Boise again.

My husband and I came for our anniversary dinner. The food was great. My only complaint is our server, Antonio. For one, We had to ask 3 times for bread ahead of time because we were hungry, and he still didn't bring until the meal and it was cold. I ordered a very simple fettuccine Alfredo as I am very plain and also vegetarian. Antonio delivered a dish that was "better" than what I ordered... when I told him I was allergic to mushrooms (that he decided to add to my dish) he gave me a dirty look and said "seriously?" Then very angrily snatched the plates away. I was made very uncomfortable and for that reason alone I will not be returning.

The best Italian place in the valley. I’ve taken friends and family here multiple times and I’m never let down.

The food is excellent! Wow! The sauce of both of our dishes were flavorful and rich. The gentleman who served us who we believe to be the owner was charming and friendly. The music and decor are spot on as well. I honestly have only good things to say. Please come try il Sugo if you are a fan of Italian food. You will not be let down.

We really enjoyed our evening at il Sugo this past weekend. The food was top notch and reasonable priced, which was a nice surprise and will encourage us to return. We ordered an Arancini to begin with and the House Marinara. was incredible. Some of the best we've had. We both ordered Caesar salads and portion size and taste was perfect. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon Pasta and I had the Chicken Parmesan with fett alfredo. Both were just amazing. We loved it. Service was fantastic but it wasn't very packed for a Saturday night. Looks like the word is still getting out. We will definitely tell all we know about this place. 4 stars instead of 5 is just for the atmosphere. It left a lot to be desired, but who cares if the food and service is amazing? Don't let that stop you from enjoying a fantastic meal!

I'm going to give it a four and a half. Because that is not an option that gets a five-star review. Me and my wife went yesterday and she kept asking me is it this good or am I just drunk. No it is actually pretty good. I don't know if it tops my favorite Italian place in the valley Luciano's, but they're definitely isn't as long of a wait. I had the filet and fettuccine alfredo and it is sliced fillet mixed in with the fettuccine I actually like it more than a steak next to a pile of pasta. And vegetarians rejoice. My wife had a vegetarian pasta don't remember what it's called the northender or something like that was bottom of the menu. She said it was very good. Unfortunately they were out of bruschetta and mussels which were both items we would have ordered. I'd give this place a shot. We have lived here for three years and I did not even know this place was here until I typed in pasta in Yelp.

We had read plenty of great reviews before reserving. I thought the service needed help. What was most frustrating was that it was extremely loud and made coverages difficult from road traffic. The food somewhat compensated for the negative remarks I've made.

A nice new surprise in downtown! Our family of four found something delicious for everyone. We sat outside, which was also pleasant. Our waiter was great, too! Highly recommend the short rib ravioli!
