The line was long as they served coffee drinks and lunch. They rushed my mocha through as I was on a trolley tour.

Favorite spot to get coffee.
I get their “Keith Richards” it’s definitely my favorite, and they nail it with the fresh whip cream —strong, flavorful, and exactly the kind of pick-me-up you’d hope for. The shop itself has a great vibe, super relaxed and welcoming. If you’re around and need a solid coffee fix, Java is definitely worth a visit!

Amazing atmosphere and kind staff.
I enjoy going to Java because it is a cute atmosphere and they have lots of options, if you are seeking variety in your coffee beverage or differing food options. My only concern is how inconsistent the staff is. Most recent time that I visited Java, the staff was incredibly rude. We came during the late afternoon and were some of the only customers in the facility. The staff member taking our order acted as if us being there was a burden and kept responding to our order with annoyance, and even after we tipped them, they continued to be on their phone and we had to wait what felt like an unreasonably long amount of time for an iced coffee. I don't personally want to go back to Java, because I value customer service, but everything else about this space is really enjoyable.

I didn't get a chance to drink my coffee but they were very helpful especially because I drink or care about specialty coffees...they knew exactly how to communicate

Good place for coffee, bad place to study (very very slow internet, took me 5 minutes to load a webpage)

This is a great coffee shop. The coffee is good and the pastries/breakfast items are absolutely scrumptious!!! The ham and cheese turnover and the scones are amazing. On one morning, I had a latte with rose and pistachio syrup; what a rare find in Idaho! Some clientele are very friendly and will initiate conversations with you. Service is great, but one time they forgot about my food order after a huge wave of customers after me came; I have them a friendly reminder and got my food right away :)

As Boise natives, we grew up going to Java in the North End—grabbing a coffee and strolling through Camel’s Back Park. It was what the cool kids did… and still do.
What we love most? Java still feels like Java.
Same vibe. Same menu staples. Same Bowl of Soul.
In a world where everything is constantly changing—menus, interiors, trends—Java holds steady. It’s a place that resists the pressure to modernize just for the sake of it and instead leans into what makes it great: intention, familiarity, and community.
They’ve stayed true to themselves and in doing so, to the spirit of Boise.

The food was on point. I get coffee there in the morning. I love the atmosphere. The house to cafe conversion was done well. The girl that works there is really cute. I mean really nice 😉

Everyone at Java are always friendly and greet you with a smile. The coffee is always hot and fresh. Weekends especially in the morning can get pretty busy but it is always worth the wait.

Recommended dishes: Breakfast Burrito
Coffee is pretty good, food is very underwhelming. Their breakfast burrito is 80% black beans when it’s supposed to have lots of stuff in it. Service wasn’t great.
