Great food for a great price! My wife and I go fairly regularly and we're always seated and served very quickly. We usually both get the fried rice and sweet and sour chicken lunch/dinner specials and they're always delicious. Great portions, great flavor, and great service. The only con is the bathrooms smell like sewage!

The worst place I have ever had. I would not feed this to my dog.

This is my most favorite Chinese food place in town! The staff is understanding and knowledgeable. They remember me when I'm in there more often and I like our conversations. I never see it super busy so I hope they stick around for longer. I'd love to see the place remodeled someday.I love the General Tso's chicken the most but the whole menu is amazing!

Seated immediately. Wonderful waitress. Quite clean. I ordered the house chow mein with chicken. It was terribly dry and gummy. Very scant amount of chicken, no sauce. It was fairly edible, but very disappointing. The egg drop soup was basically broth and egg. Zero veggies. Not likely that we will make a return visit. Hope they were just having an off day.

My wife got a combo plate. She wasn't impressed at all. The service was okay. The menu had good options if you have picky kids who only eat burgers and chicken strips..

Mandarin Palace has been around for decades so if you want the authentic "American Chinese restaurant" experience, this is the place. It looks like they still use the same serving dishes, utensils, and menus from when they opened. There's a certain comfort in this. If you yearn for Moo Goo Gai Pan, Sub Gum, or traditional Chow Mein, you can get it here. The food is about what you'd expect - good, but not great. Filling, but not memorable. The Chinese version of comfort food. Our server was nice and pleasant, but she was the only person working the dining room so even though there weren't many diners, our food took quite awhile to arrive.Eating at the Mandarin Palace was a nostalgic event for us, but given the many other options Boise has, we likely won't be returning soon.

I ordered #3 combo which was fried rice chow mien, sweet and sour pork and egg roll. Not what i expected. The rice was decent but everything else was quite uneditable. Mushy sweet and sour pork, and bland chow mien. I won't be back.. spend your money elsewhere.

Extremely disappointed in the owner. I ordered $35 worth of food and the owner incorrectly made the chow main. When I called to get new chow main, they said they could make it if I pay for a new one. Their website also has the incorrect prices and the owner said that it’s my fault cause I’m using the wrong website but I was on their website. They refused to fix anything and I was just stuck with incorrect stuff. Save yourself the time and go to north end Chinese. They are much much better and the owner actually fixes their mistakes.

I have been eating here for years, going back to 1982. The food and service has always been good. The atmosphere not so much. They have the same décor from back when I first started eating here (1982). Today 07/28/23 I ordered take out for lunch. I got the #2 combo meal=Mandarin Chicken, fried rice, chow mien and fried shrimp. I ordered a small fried egg roll on the side and extra mandarin sauce. Not sure what has happened to this place but the meal was not up to par as it usually is. The fried rice was very bland as well as the chow mien. The egg roll did not seem to be cooked#fried enough, it was quite mushy. The fried shrimp was mostly batter. The way they packaged the food was out of the ordinary, they put everything in a Styrofoam container in comparison to the Chinese food take out boxes that is usually used. With this the portions were a lot smaller than normal. I feel like they may have changed ownership/management as well as bringing on new cooks for the food to not be consistently delicious as it usually is.I may try ordering from here again one more time in hopes that it was just an off day for them. Strike two and no more.
