It had been about 3 years since we last dined at Moon’s so I was excited to try out the food at their new location. Sad to say that I was greatly disappointed with the food.
Food ordered:
John Wayne Breakfast, Chicken Fajita Hash and a single pancake.
The John Wayne Breakfast was underwhelming and disappointing for its price. The biscuit tasted rather doughy and almost raw, and the gravy came out cold, mediocre and lacking in flavor. The bacon was overdone and was just about close to burning by the time it was placed on my plate. The pancake was the most disappointing part of the breakfast because I was looking forward to it… I was expecting to get a taste of or something close to that signature diner pancake flavor but for whatever reason it tasted gummy/rubbery… it reminded me of a pancake batter that has been over-mixed and if you know anything about making good pancakes you know not to over-mix the batter.
For whatever reason, the syrup tasted like it was watered down; almost as though they were trying to stretch it? I found myself using way more syrup than I typically do and even then it still remained flat. Besides that it had a weird flavor that my husband also agreed on.
On the brighter side, the chicken fajita hash was pretty tasty and I will admit that their portions are generous given how pricey the food is. I was however disappointed in the J.W. Breakfast and their pancake. The hot chocolate I got was good, although I needed to water it down because it was insanely sweet.
Service was great and our server was a gem! Atmosphere was relaxed and comfy. Would we eat here again? Probably not as it isn’t worth the price.

Ok food. Scramble needed a lot of salt. Cappuccino was almost undrinkable, extremely bitter.

First time visiting Moon’s Cafe downtown, and the experience was one of a kind. Firstly, you walk into the restaurant on the second floor, and the atmosphere greets you warmly. The decor of the restaurant is just so well thought out and the place is well lit, with a vintage classic style. Secondly, we were attended to by Dakota who gave us impeccable service and was very kindly attentive to us, coming to check in on us intermittently to make sure we were happy with our food and service. Lastly, I had the best Benedict I've ever tasted in all my times of trying breakfast restaurants. All in all, the experience was a great first impression and I will definitely be coming back again and again to this restaurant.

Customer service here is great, restaurant is clean, but the food was absolutely terrible... The taste was underwhelming, seemingly low-quality ingredients, and there may have been an issue with freshness of the meat, I didn't feel good after eating my meal and still had issues the next day... Sadly I cannot recommend this place.

A great local spot serving fresh scratch made food. No reservations so get there early or be prepared to wait a little, I was told it was going to be a about 35 min and it was exactly 35 minutes, so they have their system down pretty good. Our table overlooked 8th Street, great for people watching. All of the food was tasty and you could tell they make it all fresh. Would definitely recommend.

Visited recently after not having been for years. Still a great breakfast and great service. Food options are tasty and well prepared and they still have a fun kitchy decor vibe even in the new location. Will definitely be back!

Food is good, service very friendly. Prices a bit high. $5.95 for orange juice. Black Bear Diner sells fresh squeezed OJ for less.
Overall it all balances out.

I went early on a weekend and it was pretty busy. The food was okay but not worth the price. Had a way better experience at the original pancake house! If you're looking for a fantastic breakfast I recommend them way over this place. Way more and better food for half the cost.

Damn good food. I have the ham and cheese omelet and the Mrs had eggs benedict and it was amazing! Super busy in there though but we got to jump the crowd and sit at the bar. Will definitely come back.
