I ordered the grilled chicken salad after seeing the picture on the online menu, not only was it a far cry from what was shown, it was horribly overpriced. Imagine paying over $15 for a hand full of spring mix, topped with boiled, shredded, unseasoned chicken and 3 cherry tomatoes. Nothing more. I thought for sure the chowder would make up for it. The potatoes were literally rotten black, the fact that we're in Idaho makes this absolutely diabolical, when I dipped my spoon in the cup it was met with a clicking chalky sound, it was broken clam shells, Like actual shells! The base was thin, sour smelling and tasting. If there were no pictures to get my hopes up I would not be typing this right now.

The place is a little kitschy, which I think fits with this style of restaurant.
I'll definitely be coming back for more, as a side note my steak was on par with ones from restaurants that charge three times as much!

I went to Country Bay Bistro last week with my daughter. I had the ribeye. It was tender and the veggies were very obviously fresh and both were well cooked. The seasoning was great. My daughter had chicken fettucine alfredo and she said it was good. She said the cheese cake was amazing! So, fast forward to today, New Year's Day. It was open and I stopped in for a Classic Burger. The burger was moist and well cooked. I really liked the bun they use. The steak fries needed salt, but that's no big deal. I'll go back again because the crab dip appetizer is calling my name! Oh, and the board said they're having Super Bowl Sunday's game on! They have 3 big screens over the bar and were showing a game when I was in there. I've had two different waitresses there and both were really nice. The place was clean.

It wasn't very good this time. This was our second time at Country Bay Bistro. My salmon wasn't cooked all the way through, and the veggies were cooked too much. Our daughter-in-law's steak was tough, and I think her pasta needed more sauce. I think her shrimp was just 'okay'. My husband and son said the clam chowder was good, although it had the whole clam in it, and you had to eat it out of the shell.
If we go back, I will order the cod fish and chips. They were good the first time we went there.

Yikes! Don't know that I would recommend this place to anyone let alone someone I liked. If your main chef (cook) isn't going to be in for the day DON'T let a substitute takeover. Probably the worst meal I've EVER had at a restaurant. Their shrimp fettuccine was lacking in flavor and watery. I ended up paying $21 for a salad, 5 shrimp (from the under-cooked uneaten noodles) and a drink. The fettuccine was much harder than al dente also (unedilble) and the toast that came with was as hard as a rock. No comping your uneaten meal here. Your SOL...... Go to Cracker Barrel for a good meal. I'm shocked CBB has lasted this long. Either the chef/owner is lazy, doesn't care or both.

I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was very clean, and we loved the vibe. The food was great, and the portions were generous- especially for the reasonable price. You could tell it was owned by a person, not a big corporation, and we'll definitely be back.

I used to love this place, me and my boyfriend went here because I can only eat at places that offer gluten free items on the menu. We went about 6 times in 2023, it was great, when we went the night my boyfriend proposed it was great, we’ve tried to go about 3 times after that and it has gone downhill :( I used to love this restaurant but lately we’ve had super dry salmon, and unbaked baked potatoe, as well ass other issues with the sea food boil… I wish this place kept its standard when we first started going… but the food. Has definitely changed.
Clean restaurant with great staff capped off with excellent food. Would definitely recommend.

First time in here while visiting Boise for work. The shrimp was a little over cooked but the clam chowder that I had was good. The service was great and our waitress was awesome.
The wife and I were looking for a nice place to eat and I stumbled across this establishment on google and I’m beyond glad I did!! The food was dang good, our waitress was absolutely amazing, the whole experience here was hands down top tier and prices were really reasonable!!! And this is the first establishment in Idaho that I have been to that has sweet tea that actually taste like real southern sweet tea which you don’t find in this state!!! Although made us miss Louisiana even more but we will be a returning customer!!!!!
