This place was really good. I ordered the Swedish pancakes but they were super thin more like a crepe which I wish had been explained to me better because I would have much rather had pancakes but my husband had an omelet and it was rather delicious.

Food is always great no doubts about it. Service though is 1/10…. It takes an hour plus wait. Once we get in it takes forever for them to take the order. From there yet one more wait to get your food to the table. In between if you need anything like straws or water or coffee refill etc.. it takes forever sometimes forgotten that you need to ask twice. It would be good if they can work on taking their service levels high.
I was at the Goodwill on Fairview in Boise for their grand opening today. Despite the limited parking in the shopping center, it seems The Original Pancake House wasn’t too pleased about sharing space with a new neighbor.
Earlier that morning, I had breakfast at The Original Pancake House. When we sat down, the restaurant was practically empty—yet following Goodwill’s grand opening, the place suddenly became busy. The atmosphere was uninspired, the customer service left much to be desired, and the food was far from memorable.
Upon leaving, I witnessed something that truly defined the experience: a dark-haired man, likely well past retirement age but still in desperate need of perspective, standing outside frantically waving cars away from “their” spaces. Moments later, he was throwing food items at vehicles he claimed were parked “on their property.” To be clear, The Original Pancake House does not own an enclosed lot, nor are there signs posted reserving these spaces. Their attempt at policing parking carries no authority.
Whether you’re a child running a business or an adult who lacks basic business practices, that shortcoming is entirely your own. Instead of policing a public lot, perhaps that energy would be better spent improving the restaurant’s food, service, and hospitality. A great breakfast doesn’t require theatrics in the parking lot—just quality and professionalism inside the restaurant 🤝

The staff was suuper friendly, I went on a Thursday morning so not super busy. Good coffee, the omlette was STUFFED and the waffle was so so so good and hot and had great flavor. Very happy, will definitely be back. Not super spendy either. My only dissapointment is that I havent been here sooner!
