Amazing coffee. Incredible chai.
This could be some of the best coffee you’ll have in a while. The in-house chai is possibly the best in Boise.
Updated: the owner/manager has been really receptive to feedback about my negative experiences at this location. Based on more recent visits it is clear that there is effort to improve customer satisfaction. Much appreciated. I may become a regular yet.

Gotta be one of the best coffee shops in the Valley. I’m walking down there from the jobsite every chance I get. Incredible coffee - not too sweet, not too bitter; amazing service. For sure the new favorite.

This is one of my favorite spots for coffee and chill. I love the atmosphere and the coffee is pretty amazing!! Plus you get your coffee poured into a locally made ceramic mug you can buy or leave. Gluten and dairy free options.

Great vibe. So-much-so that I even took a pic of their bathroom! Now That says a lot. Staff was super friendly, & I plan on hitting this spot up again next week. 5-stars across the board. Yeah, you should support this local business. Oh, and if you like black coffee... theirs was delicious. Thats a bonus star right there!

They make their own mocha syrup from Mexican chocolate. It's SO yummy. This is now my mocha spot!! One of the other reviews said they make their own almond milk, not true as of October '25.

Love this hidden gem! Best coffee in Boise. I have a very sensitive stomach and this is the only coffee that doesn’t make me regret a second cup!

We had high hopes about this coffee shop considering the ratings, but Primal Coffee let us down. I got an Americano with caramel flavoring and my husband got a decaf mocha. My Americano tasted chemically, flat, and a little sour. I'm guessing the caramel flavoring was sugar free or low sugar, causing the chemical flavor. If that was the case, 1) sugar free caramel is an abomination and shouldn't exist and 2) I should have been informed that an abomination was about to be applied to my espresso drink. If it wasn't sugar free caramel, then what the hell! I threw away most of the Americano. My husband's mocha was obviously made with powdered chocolate flavoring that wasn't very chocolaty, and it wasn't well mixed at all. It had a grainy texture, and once my husband got toward the bottom of the cup it was just sludge. The shop itself is OK, with several seats, and plenty of parking. We had quick service. But the drinks left much to be desired.

The owners have created something special with Primal coffee. I love the atmosphere, it’s eclectic and cozy with an always awesome staff. They have house-made chai, and a house made primal latte which should be your go-to if you’re unsure what you’d like. They have phenomenal pastries which are made locally. Lastly they have the best prices in town. A primal latte will run you about 5.50 which is a good deal in my opinion.

I’ve visited other coffee shops in the area, which are all great, however primal is my favorite! The atmosphere is great and definitely more my style of coffee shops. The service was top notch, friendly, and even conversational. I also had a croissant which was delicious! Definitely a gem in town.
