So really bad no real sashimi everything was pre-cut even the sake was cheap sake … Traveling on the road stopped at this particular sushi restaurant because it had a four Star Rating…. What a waste

Was looking forward to trying this place. For some reason Boise has nothing but great things to say. I understand land locked sushi has its struggles, but its not unattainable. The fish was rubbery. The rice was OLD crumbly and flavorless. Couldn't even hold up to being rolled. Improperly stored rice is a huge health hazard. Sure it was visually appealing but no amount of sauce and garnish can hide the fact this was a terrible product. Unfortunately threw most of this away for fear of getting sick from the rice. The service was friendly and the place looked cute but that's all I've got.

I didn't think sushi this amazing existed in Boise. What a gem! Was not expecting the level of service we received in such a seemingly whole in the wall. Combined with great prices, I was thoroughly impressed. Jeremy, our sushi chef, was exceptional!! We quickly trusted him wholeheartedly with any recommendation, and he didn't disappoint. They sat my daughter and I who is a child down in a booth and as we are comfortable and looking at the menu they rudely tell us to get out of our seat so someone else can sit there . They were not nice at all and didn’t even apologize and treated us like scum . The manager did this by the way . Wouldn’t even let me talk to the owner just treated us like garbage . If the owner reads this , find new management because yours is terrible

I have been to most sushi places in the Ada County area and Shogun is by far my favorite! Their food is delicious, fresh, and very reasonably priced. The servers are very attentive and friendly, without being annoying. The dine-in experience is wonderful, but they are also very good with packaging their to-go orders.I usually get a couple of their rolls, but have also really enjoyed the other scattered things I have tried on their menu. I am never disappointed!

This place really impressed me! It looks like a little hole in the wall, but the service was immaculate. The sushi chef was very accommodating to my allergy needs, and the roll he made was DELICIOUS. Service was excellent, food was just as so. Prices are decent, but not cheap. Will be coming back soon!!
