Total dump. And the owner is a slimeball who doesn't pay his staff properly.

Skippers is one of those places that I have been going to since a kid- and going there is like going on a nostalgic trip back in time. The chowder is exactly as I remember it and the fish options are largely unchanged as well. They have some grilled options and chicken for those who don't like fish - but that is what you generally visit Skippers for, isn't it? Remember- classic fish is breaded, and the pub style is battered, and the fries are large "steak fries" and usually aren't all that crispy- not that that is a bad thing- just so you know. Also, be prepared for the prices to have increased with time as well.

The service was friendly, but their menu is now is too pricey for what is basically fast food level fare. Their hush puppies have also gotten smaller. For being one of the only Skippers left I would expect to have an experience that left me knowing how it still survives, but I just can't figure it out.

Yummy! Grew up going to Skippers living in the NW. They use to be everywhere but they are tough to find these days so having a location here in Boise is a bonus. I make it a point to visit this place whenever I come into town since I live out of state. Their food has always been superior to any other fast food seafood chain. I love the crispy crust of the fish and love their tarter sauce. I only give them 3 stars because there are areas that they can improve on. Most importantly they need to bring back their special “All You Can Eat” (AYCE). That has been the chains staple for decades. I understand that some customers will abuse the specials by sharing but there is no need to eliminate it. My suggestion is to bring the special back but it can only be ordered if you are dining solo OR if everyone in your party orders the same AYCE. I agree, the menu is over priced which is why the AYCE was such a great deal. I rarely ate more than 5 or 6 pieces of fish, and sometimes only 4 but I took advantage of the unlimited chowder and slaw. The lemons that they provide are cut too small to a point you cannot squeeze any of the juice. They need to be lemon wedges and not slices. The restaurant is noticeably dirty at times and the dining tables can be sticky. They would be better off moving to a newer location with a new set up and maybe downsizing as far as space because they currently have too much dead space in their existing location. They don’t need to be in a stand alone building. In the event you decide to do a complete overhaul, just choose your new location wisely, it can be the difference of being very successful and going belly up! Yes, I have a degree in Geography. Looking forward to coming back this weekend.

Absolutely horrible for the high price! The fish were grease bombs. The fish, fries, hush puppies all tasted the same, BURNT! im guessing that the oil in the fryers do not get changed regularly. Only a spoonful of cole slaw. Never, ever again. The people giving this place a good rating must be family and friends.

The food is flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The scallops are tender and juicy on the inside with just the right amount of crisp, golden brown breading on the outside. Their food is cooked fresh to order and stays warm on the drive home if you get it to go.

Chowder is excellent. I love the clam and fish basket. Service is excellent, I enjoy their friendly exuberance.

The outside of the building was very run down. It was six pm when we arrived. There was one car in the lot. We decided not to go in.

The most helpful and courteous staff I've ever encountered. Excellent! (The food is very tasty too)
