Skippers is one of those places that I have been going to since a kid- and going there is like going on a nostalgic trip back in time. The chowder is exactly as I remember it and the fish options are largely unchanged as well. They have some grilled options and chicken for those who don't like fish - but that is what you generally visit Skippers for, isn't it? Remember- classic fish is breaded, and the pub style is battered, and the fries are large "steak fries"...
The service was friendly, but their menu is now is too pricey for what is basically fast food level fare. Their hush puppies have also gotten smaller. For being one of the only Skippers left I would expect to have an experience that left me knowing how it still survives, but I just can't figure it out.
Yummy! Grew up going to Skippers living in the NW. They use to be everywhere but they are tough to find these days so having a location here in Boise is a bonus. I make it a point to visit this place whenever I come into town since I live out of state. Their food has always been superior to any other fast food seafood chain.
