11/15/2025: It was good for a month, but yet again, “Warmed” when the label clearly shows, “Not Warmed”… But we “Read” the labels as I have been told before.
10/11/2025: Initial Review
I have been coming here for many years and have been a long standing customer, who has seen and experienced many Starbucks partners. Many of whom, have been very good. Fast forward to today and the attitude of the younger generation needs an attitude check. They need to get over themselves and understand what customer service is all about. Hence, the poor review that I am now giving, because maybe it will wake them up. However, I will not hold breath.
Over the past week I have had two orders with a pumpkin cheesecake muffin and have specifically marked off on the mobile app “Not Warmed.” However, the muffin was warmed. It is not a huge deal or the end of the world, but when brought to staff’s attention, I expect not to get an attitude. It is simply brought to their attention, because they are obviously not paying attention to the order labels when received. I understand things get busy sometimes and mistakes are made, but when it is a mistake that is made consistently, it needs to be brought to one’s attention; especially when it was not during a busy time. Even if it was a busy time, things still need to be paid attention to, because it is all about customer service and that is what keeps customers. Something the younger generation needs to get in touch with and the attitude many of them have needs to be put in check.
I will add, the supervisor after talking with the partner, who gave the attitude and made the comment, “We read the labels” offered to replace the muffin with one that was not warmed, which is good customer service on the supervisor’s part, even though there was still a hint of attitude from them, as well.
And to the partner, who made the comment, “We read the labels.” You might want to rethink that, because if that were the case… Why did the mistake happen?
I can tell you why, it is because many of you do not pay attention. And I have experienced this many times over. I have had times where my mobile order sat at the drive-through window, because no one bothered to pay attention that it was an in-store mobile order and that information is printed on the label, as well. I have also had other times where things have been “Warmed” when the label clearly displayed, “Not Warmed.”
So, do not stand there and make the comment, “We read the labels,” because if that were the case, many of the mistakes that I have experienced at Starbucks many times over would not have been made. And because of the attitude, this is why now the review being given is being given. I’m done with the attitude of people today, because no one wants to take responsibility for anything.
Bottom line, the point to all of this; customer service is a lost art and the attitude many employees give across the board at many companies needs to change.
I have owned and run multiple businesses with employees throughout my career and customer service is always at the top of the list and if it is not, you would be fired.

Ok. Today the service was awesome. Barista was so nice to my daughter who I brought in for a special occasion for a decaf pumpkin latte. 10/10 service from Kaitlyn! I ride my bike here from the green belt, on a safe path, so this my fav Starbucks location.

I really wish I didn’t have to waste my time writing this. But this store is a literal nightmare, they continually mess up my order and from what I see on other reviews this is a consistent issue. The customer service is nothing short of awful and the general experience here is almost never good. Today I was yelled at by an employee after calling tor a refund on my messed up order for “talking bad about her employees” while I was making excuses for why my drink is continually wrong, I was telling her “maybe you guys aren’t receiving the proper training and that’s not your fault (she cut me off before I could finish) I then tried to say maybe you’re understaffed right now and that’s also not your fault (she cut me off again) after continuing to battle me when I was literally trying to make excuses for the poor service and let her know I’m not blaming her for the issue, I eventually hung up and filed a complaint with corporate who WAS able to refund me over the phone. She claimed she couldn’t refund me over the phone due to policy which is ridiculous because because consumer rights require businesses to provide a reasonable refund for a customer with a defective product without the unreasonable burden of having to come in. This store really needs to work on some things and also letting customers call in and talk without being repeatedly interrupted and accused of saying something they didn’t. Maybe if you let me finish my sentence you would’ve understood I was trying to make reason why things are always wrong. I was never blaming you or the employees. Learn to listen instead of make assumptions based on what you think someone is saying. Not everyone calling in is calling to attack you but you sure thought it was your job to make me into a villain when I wasn’t.

Riley and the gals there are so awesome and patient. this State street n marketplace location is awesome. I haven't been inside so I can't realistically score it. Starbucks food is well mass produced so food score is for the drinks they've made for me

For what it is Starbucks does the job. A cup of pike and a sausage cheddar is great but the one off state street took 15min to get through the drive thru. Other than that all good

Starbucks at 5021 W State Street needs to be aware that the drive-up window stainless steel shelf is always filthy, and even the lip of the shelf has dried up drips. *If this is what a customer sees when picking up at the window, it makes one question how much attention to detail when it comes to cleaning and health they are actually paying attention to inside the prep area. I have been there many times, and the shelf is always dusty, with cup marks dragging to the edge. Please add this shelf to your daily cleaning at this Starbucks. And check it periodically. It's gross.

It's nice, but I'm a fat dude, and the day was hot and humid, and the AC wasn't up enough for jeans. Still nice.

Consistently Disappointing
I’ve been a regular at this Starbucks for months, but in the last six months, my orders have been messed up repeatedly. This morning, I paid $7 for a latte that had no coffee in it — just lukewarm milk. It's frustrating to keep paying for mistakes. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll keep coming back.
This Starbys is on my way to work and treatment. Stopping here is so convenient. Today we stopped in for a drink and some breakfast goodies.
I go on Pinterest to find unique drinks. Today's drink was the Gummy Bear. The barista helped me get my drink ordered and also got two ham and cheese croissants warmed up. The barista was nice. She helped me modify my drink since they didn't have one of the ingredients anymore.
There were quite a few people working but my drink seemed to take forever to make. It was really busy so I don't know what the hold up was. The thing about Starbucks is their customer service is so inconsistent depending on the barista. Some of them are so nice and then some are so blahh.
I finally got my drink and I made my way out of the door. My croissant was nice and hot. The cheese was melty. The croissant was buttery and soft. The drink was ok. The classic pink drink is always a winner but this modified version was different. It was good but I probably won't get it again.

Used to be my favorite location with my favorite baristas. Things have been going downhill with frequent order mix ups. This morning I ordered a venti drip in the drive thru. When I got home and looked at the drink, realized there was no coffee in it at all. Just hot water and cream. Which is so bad I laughed. But ultimately I’ve spent over half an hour with Starbucks corporate customer service trying to get a refund for my coffee that had no coffee. No longer have faith in the brand and especially not this location.

I have been coming into this store for quite sometime and as a paying customer I have seen questionable behavior from the older supervisors (I am assuming) yelling at the younger ones so I refuse to come in anymore however still use the drive thru.Today I came in and the girls were so sweet especially Maria! I came in today with my dogs got my coffee and she gave me to pup cups out of surprise (without me asking for any). Keep up the good work girl!
