All-you-can-eat Sushi at Sushi Ya is a really fun time and very good food. Don’t expect a fancy restaurant and they are busy, so sometimes you don’t see your server very frequently. Not a place for a fancy-dress dinner, but a great place to go for an informal meal of lots of sushi

The fish is weathered and completely dry
Rice is heavy and tasteless
I ordered rolls with crab, avocado, and Philadelphia, but there was disgusting sauce on top

I DO NOT RECOMMEND 0 points

Plating of the food was nice. However the eel sauce tasted like slightly thickened soy sauce not a true eel sauce. The fried roll I got was cold and tasted like it had been sitting since earlier in day as it was kinda stale or maybe old oil was used as well which was disappointing because the sushi came out within 5 min of me ordering it. Very underwhelming for all the great reviews it has. Great price for all you can eat sushi if you don’t mind just ok sushi. Server never came back to check on me after I got my food.

Used old rice in the rolls, rolls did not match descriptions. DIRTY walls next to table, bathrooms 🤮 disgusting

Firstly, Sushi Ya has potential as the food is good, fresh, and the portions are relatively large.

I've got to say that I'm torn a little, as some of my suggestions would add some expense, and the prices are good for what you receive, but here goes anyway.

First the good... The miso soup and the salad were both very tasty, and I was served full bowls of each(nice because I love both). For lunch, I ordered the katsu chicken, and it was pounded thin and fried crisp, just like you get in Japan. However, in Japan, there would be a ladle full of Japanese green curry poured over the top of the katsu, I did miss that at Sushi Ya. The accompanying large portion of tempura vegetables were good, but not great as the tempura batter was a little thicker and a bit more greasy than I prefer... Not bad, but could be better.

While the food could be improved, it was still plentiful and pretty decent.

The restaurant itself definitely needs a makeover, and the posted paper signs of differing sizes, etc. could really be spruced up. And, while the restaurant was at a perfect temperature (winter temp of 35 today), I've read that there is no AC... In the heat of summer, I'd walk in and immediately walk out... Show stopper for me if not remedied.

My server, Lena, was very nice, accommodating, and took good care of me.

I will definitely be back as the overall value is there at Sushi Ya... In the cool season, that is... Need AC for me to eat there in the dog days of summer..

Got the AYCE for dinner. Came in right at 4:30, when they opened again for dinner. Never really got too busy by the time I left around 6, but people were starting to come in. Overall, pretty good for AYCE.

Mostly got the nigiri. Some of the pieces of fish were really quite large, which imo is fine. A few pieces (like mackerel) were maybe a bit under-sauced and just a bit dry given that. I think the rice was a little dense and dry too.

But overall, it was good food at a great price. Well done.

We have been frequent customers here be because the food was good for a somewhat decent price. When they raised the all you can eat price we didn’t mind much because depending on how much you could eat it was still a relatively good deal. We went in recently to find that not only are you paying more for the all you can eat, but now per there new policy children 10 and under are $14 for the all you can eat??? We have a barely two year old who would at most eat 3 pieces and when we asked to confirm the cost of that we were told yep that’s $14. Ridiculous. Older children I understand but little toddlers?? Never going here again.

Edit
Thank you, we appreciate that. We will ask for you next time.
