I have been coming to Hyde house over the years every now and again; every time I loved the food and experience until my most recent visit. I got the turkey blackberry sandwich, the meat was low quality and tasted bland and overly sweet. The side dish was microwaved. My husband ordered the prime rib hash, which was also bland, with dry and chewy meat. My latte was extremely sweet and the americano was average. Hopefully this is just an off day but we won’t be back anytime soon.
We loved our brunch at the Hyde House! It’s the cutest place and the food was SO good. I had a honey steamer (delicious ?) and the blackberry turkey sandwich. ? you can’t go wrong though! Also the kindest staff. 100% recommend going here!
A very disappointing New Year’s Eve dinner. I found the Hyde house’s pre fix New Year’s Eve dinner on instagram and booked a reservation for my boyfriend and I. We were very excited as we rarely dine out. Our appetizers were good, I had the salad and he tried the bisque. Our server was a bit on the flakey side, we rarely saw her and she seemed flustered at every encounter. There was no salt and pepper on the table and she didn’t bring us new forks when we went from dinner (salmon) to dessert (cheesecake). Kinda gross, but whatever. Our entrees were both cold and one was completely wrong. The Hyde house advertised prime rib (the reason we made the res) and we were given pork. There is no beef prime rib on this planet that is white. I should have known better looking at the 69.99$ for two deal. Lesson learned. But when I tried to bring it up at the restaurant to a different server, ours was very absent, she assured me (lied to me or doesn’t have a clue) we were served prime rib. I didn’t know how to react so I gave up on the argument. After paying and leaving, I contacted the Hyde house and was lied to again by the owner. Just apologize, own your mistake and offer to make it right. Shame on you. I’ll post the pictures so everyone can see we were served pork instead of prime rib. Don’t waste your time. What a strange and maddening experience.
We are visiting from NM and enjoyed a delicious meal - the burger, curry and pork loin dinners did not disappoint! The owner Shelby was wonderful. Happy we went there!
I found the Hyde houses pre fix special dinner for New Years and I booked a reservation for my boyfriend and I. We were very excited, as we don’t dine out much. What a treat! We were pretty much disappointed about the whole experience. The apps, soup and salad were good. The two glasses of wine included in the deal were two very small little pours of wine. Our server was barely around our entire visit and we were lied to multiple times about what we were served for dinner. They advertised beef prime rib and my boyfriend was served a small, fatty, cold piece of pork. I asked a different server, because ours was nowhere to be found, trying to address the issue at the restaurant, but she either had no idea what meat is or straight lied to my face. (It’s the later). Not knowing how to react I dropped it. I then reached out to management after paying and leaving and the lying continued. Based on what I saw, what my bf ate and the pictures I took, he was served pork. The meat is white and the owner of the Hyde house is a liar with no conscience. Shame on you. Own your mistakes, apologize and do better. All leave some pictures for you all decide.
The patio is one of my favorite in town. Service and food great. I did spot a vile covert narcissist named Shauna slirhering around and chased it back into the alley
Unique atmosphere. Delicious food and drinks. Friendly staff. Barkcuterie board for the pups.
I love this place. Great food and owner! What an awesome vibe!!And boy did I get a satisfying chuckle finding out they stiff their staff now by writing bad checks. Man can't wait to come back and pass bad checks there. Woohoo!
Phenomenal place to enjoy a meal, brunch, drinks. Dog friendly! EVERYONE was hustling and smiling! We enjoyed our anniversary brunch there ( with Mimosas) and will DEFINITELY be going back. ( we live in Caldwell). Trust me, the French Toast bread Pudding is to die for!
There's a lot to like about Hyde House. We has the halloumi appetizer, a apple-tarragon-green salad, and two delicious entrees. But still, there were some quirks. We were served forks, but no knives, which we needed. There were some nice draft craft bees on the menu, but we had to ask repeatedly which ones they had (why not print them out for the customer?). Lastly, because of the heat, we ate indoors, but were seated at a table with two wing chairs waayy too low for the the table. That said, we would return next time we are in Boise, knowing the limitations outlined above.

Atmosphere was very vibrant, welcoming, and homey. Almost made me feel like I was outside eating in my own front yard. Host was very friendly, her company was liked by all of us. Reviews here are speaking down on the dinner options but in regards to breakfast the options and quality of food was great. Very reasonable and great experience.
Delightful! And quite popular
Stopped in at the Hyde House twice over the previous weekend; it is our first stop since the pandemic really began. Both times we were quickly seated outside despite the crowds on the sidewalks in Hyde Park. First time was just me and my wife for brunch and coffee; the 2nd time was me, our oldest daughter and her 2 children for snacks and iced teas. The food was pretty good though the menu seems exceptionally pared down. No problems with food or service, though the service was slow both times and we never got a refill on coffee, water or iced tea on either visit. There were a bunch of nuisance yellow jackets that made eating outside a little iffy and certainly not relaxing.Overall, no real complaints and we will certainly be back, though I am not going to go too far out of my way again.
I don’t understand the hype of this place. To be fair we’ve never actually eaten yet because, well this is why we wanted to write a review. we’ve tried to come to this place 4-5 times the past year. Every time we do we literally get stopped before we can open the door and get ‘we’re full’ and that’s it, they turn around leave. We’re so confused why a service based place wouldn’t want to say, oh these nights and hours are better- or you can still see inside. No warmth at all. Finally our last try, last night we were able to be sat outside, not on their patio, but a table next door more like a bench. We looked at their menu and it only had a handful of average dinner options. The host didn’t know much about drinks hours. We waited for our server she seemed nice, but with finally seeing a menu that seemed nothing special and the service, we decided to leave go to 13th because again we didn’t get the hype of this place.Feel serviced based industry can be down to two main things- quality of service and quality of food. Since we’ve really only experienced the first several times poorly it’s enough to write this. We put two stars because maybe food is okay? Don’t really care if we can’t feel welcomed. Felt very exclusive each time- maybe it’s just poor staff choices not sure but, they can continue to be and we’ll find better places in the valley to enjoy.
Super cute home turned restaurant with patio seating and cozy indoor seating. Everything was very tasty and well prepared. Staff are friendly and attentive. Nestled on 13th street, it's a little unsuspecting if you don't know what you're looking for as it is literally a house that was turned into a cafe. What would be the front yard is where patio seating is located. Very charming and neat idea for an eatery and fits the neighborhood perfectly. Will definitely be back!
