Get the pomelo tea, green tea, light ice, no sweet, and tapioca boba. thank me laterrrrr
We love it here the experience but the lady with the septum piercing is not personable, has attitude nearly every time we go and overall not nice. The first time we thought maybe a bad day but it’s been every time since… maybe more training or just a different job. It would be *** 5 stars ***for the business if one of those two things happens.
One of the best boba tea shops in the valley serving authentic teas and drinks. Lots of fresh drinks for the summer months. The boba is nicely cooked and tasty. A number of boba shops in the valley struggle with getting the texture of the boba correct, but whale tea has it dialed.
I really appreciate that they have dairy free alternatives! Not only do they have almond and oat milk, you can adjust the sweetness level and ice content. This is my favorite boba shop in Boise ♡
I drank it all before posting this. Good atmosphere, descent service. Reason for lower rating is due to the matcha taste being really bad and sorta burnt tasting. Been making matcha for years and it doesn’t taste anything like this. My hometown has a boba shop as well with much better matcha.
Drinks are good recipes, always made well, but your morning opener, white girl red hair, mixed up my girl and my own drink; and as a first timer wasn’t informing me of my options. Asked for no boba and she said it came with the drink, had to get it strained after. Will be back if the individual can sharpen their customer service skills, they were completely nonchalant.
It’s ok. Good but not the best in Boise, that goes to ZoTeaAc
Great atmosphere and the Tapioca Pearls are an amazing texture. If you're looking for a good Boba place, you should definitely stop here 😃
This is a must-try! I had their highly recommended crème brûlée tea, and it did not disappoint. I'm so glad the male staff member at the counter suggested this delicious tea drink! It reminded me of my home in the Bay Area, CA. Thank you!
If I'm being honest. This is likely the best boba in Boise (thank you to my home state of CT for bringing this here). The flavors are good, some of their drinks you can reduce the sugar which make it perfect. I want to be able to actually taste the tea not just something saccharine. If I wanted that I'd just drink soda.
The boba is warm and soft (this is how it's supposed to be, that's how you know it's fresher, not those inedible hard balls.) The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, rarely too busy which I love. Overall anytime I'm in the mood for milk tea this is where I go.
I've tried most things on the menu. Their signature whale drink is pretty good, but you have to go in knowing what you're getting. It's a coconut milk drink with a fermented peach jelly. If you're not into that, try a more traditional flavor.
Also the taro at Whale is a little unique. Natural taro is a white tuber with a slight purple hue. Most places use a powder that has purple food coloring added to distinguish it from other flavors. Whale tea doesn't have the artificial coloring added and it may actually be fresh cooked taro giving it is flavor and texture, but I'd have to confirm this later.

They let you choose the sweetness of the tea and the pearls are the perfect texture every time. Would recommend to anyone trying Boba for the first time.
Packaging and drinks look so cute but this drink honestly has so little taste in both the toppings and the drink itself. It’s like really bad and I regret spending so much money getting it because I wanted to try the peach jelly (tao jiao) at the bottom but it actually is not good at all. They wouldn’t let us have any samples so we couldn’t try it beforehand, so I’m just upset. No really fault of their own but I don’t think they should have a no samples policy.
What a cute place. The tea was very good and the staff was very kind.
Best boba in Boise!
