Today's tea journey brought me to Whale tea. The location of this joint is close to the stadium which is nice. I would come here often if I lived closer. What a pretty venue! It's very bright and vibrant. There's a ton of room and tables for people to grab a drink and hang out. It gives a very cozy feeling with the pillows on the long bench and little couch.

There's two ordering stations that you can order your drinks from. There's not a lot of interaction with you and the barista. Actually, the gal that was working didn't really talk to us. She had a guest that she was giving her attention to. They were chatting it up the whole time we were ordering and while our drinks were made. There was a gentleman that clocked in and he helped me for a bit. He helped me start a new drink card. This would have been a 5 star review if the gal would have just paid a little more attention to us.

For drinks I got the pomelo lemon tea with lychee jelly. My daughter grabbed the strawberry slushy with lychee jelly as well. The tea was delightful! You can taste the citrus in the tea. It was perfectly sweetened with a good amount of jellies on the bottom. There's also pieces of citrus peel. It added a nice element to my drink. The strawberry slushy was perfectly blended. It was thick and icy. It came with the cutest lid!

My tea was fantastic and the venue is really cute! I look forward to trying other tea if I'm ever in the area again.

The quality is fine but their brown sugar boba isnt really sweet or has the brown sugar taste. And their taro is kinda weird. Extremely pulpy and not purple, also I dont taste taro whatsoever despite asking for a little extra.

Moved to Boise and have had tried about every bubble tea place, always walking out disappointed. Places were either just watery or tasted like milk and sugar. I was recommended The Whale Tea and I’m so happy I tried it !! They use actual brewed tea for the milk teas, so you get actual tea flavor. The tapioca pearls are always the perfect chewy texture. The pricing is pretty standard for tea shops nowadays, but you get high quality cups that don’t crack or leak! This is the only bubble tea shop I will visit for my remaining time in Boise!!!

Cute place. Feel like I may have pissed off the counter people somehow? I was looking at the menu, they asked if they could help, I said no I was still looking. After that, no interaction from the counter people. I saw that the order I wanted was already on the self-order screen, so I just edited that one. Gave me the drink. Included a small tip and an ignored thanks.

Ah well. Tea was decent, but surprisingly unsugary for black sugar tea. Though, I noticed that the order I edited had 70% sweet, so maybe I'm just broken. Boba was way too soft for my tastes. No chew at all. they ended up being a bit insubstantial, since they also weren't particularly sweet or flavored on their own. Again, I'm sure lots of people would prefer this style, so that's just my take.

Overall, not bad. Wish the parking were bigger.

I can’t believe that I didn’t know about this place sooner! It’s such a dream. The atmosphere is so calm and clean, the service is fast and thorough, and the beverages are outstanding. When it comes to sugar, you can choose from the following:
More sugar
Normal amount of sugar
75% sugar
50% sugar
25% sugar
No sugar
I was going to work out after meeting there with some friends, and didn’t want to crash from sugar. I selected sugar free, and got a mango milk foam with tapioca pearls. The mango (they used real mango, not artificial sweeteners) sweetened it perfectly, without the over sweetness of the extra sugar. It was PERFECT.
The tapioca pearls were stupendous! A lot of times with other boba places the pearls have a weird texture, but these were EXACTLY what you want in tapioca pearls. They also tasted amazing.
The bathroom was very clean! You can tell from not just the restroom but the entire area that they really care about the cleanliness.
Come here if you’re in the area!!! It’s so worth it, you will not regret it.

Vegetarian options: Nothing with meat

Dietary restrictions: They have an option to make your drink without sugar! I would recommend getting a fruit tea because otherwise it has no sweetener whatsoever, and the fruit sweetens it the perfect amount with its natural sugars

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to cause any inconveniences if they would be one :)

Very amazing even if it's pricey, it's the most authentic boba place I've been too, and I've been to over 30 places by now and this one is still the best

They have okay drinks but they made my drink wrong when it was supposed to be a large they informed me that it must’ve set to medium paid 14 dollars for two medium drinks the younger lady was sweet and offered to fix the issue and I said I’d pay the difference if there was one. Older lady (owner) has a horrible attitude and caused a scene over a drink, that I honestly couldn’t care less about. Used to come here at least twice a week. Won’t be returning.

In the beginning, they were consistently great, but as time passed, the same drink orders were made wrong and just tasted like milk. One time, they messed up a couple of drinks because the printer printed incorrectly and refused to fix it. They were told by owners that they weren't able to remake drinks by any means. Everyone that I had recommended to go there stated the same experience. I'm unsure if I'll go here again.

Overall, their teas and drinks taste good! However, they don't have a very big menu. I also once got a boba tea where the boba balls were still very hot at the bottom of my not-so cold drink. It was very unpleasant.
