Great food with huge portions. I had the meatloaf sandwich which was featured on the shows Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Couldn't eat it all but made a good attempt. We made the mistake of going there in the rain and realizing we couldn't eat outside and there was no indoor option so we used the car but it was worth the effort. Good prices too

Sometimes people make all the difference. I've been to wanna be fine dining that didn't seem to care as much about their product. Had an inconvenience and because of their high standards staff took it upon themselves to make it as right as possible. Worth visiting just to see someone take pride in their product. ???

If you don't know Westside and haven't been there, let me give you the basics. It's an old style diner that most people take home but there are a few tables outside for when the weather is good. It's typical in some ways that it's got burgers, chicken sandwiches and typical diner kind of food but there's a special twist. Chef Lou had a long history in the restaurant business and brought his knowledge to Westside. Prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights? Yes sir! Want the best Monte Cristo around? You'll find it. Brought my girlfriend after a Boise State game and she'd never been there. She wants to bring some of her family and come back. If you're looking for more of a sit-down experience, there's another location with the same excellent food off of Park Center.

The fries are a bit too salty, but the seasoning was appreciated overall. As for the milkshake, it was a proper letdown - too watery, artificial, and overly sweet. However, the price point is fair and some people might enjoy the plentiful flavor options.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the staff was excellent and offered my dogs a small milk bone. Thank you for the courtesy!

The ice cream baked potato was beyond. I still don’t know how they make the “skin” but one day I will find out. Also their mashed potatoes (not pictured) were realllly amazing, the gravy they used was next level.

I stopped here weekly on my walk home from high school in the 60s & now visit every trip I make to Boise for finger steaks or Monte Cristo sandwich. A small patio area available to eat on site. A huge menu with a talented chef. Hope it still exists for another 60 years.
