Loved this spot! The vibe was super chill but still lively enough to feel like a night out. Drinks were on point (and strong in the best way 😅), the staff was super friendly, and the music kept the energy up without being too loud to talk. Perfect place to hang with friends, grab a cocktail, and just enjoy the night. Definitely adding this one to my regular rotation!

We came in on Tuesday evening June 17th around 7:00, I’m so sorry we didn’t catch the bartender’s name, but he made two of the best cocktails my girlfriend and I have ever had, he rules
Huge waste of space. Pool table sucks d

I used to love this place. Until the whiskey sour went from $9 to $13 in one year.
Awesome, laid back place.

The bartender was awful. She was too busy talking to a group on the other end of the bar. The place was dead so it would have been easy to give us great service. Unsurprisingly this was the same bartender described in a bad review from 2 weeks ago so she's an ongoing problem. She "didn't have the ingredients" for a cocktail I ordered off the menu which I came to realize meant she didn't want to put in the effort to make it.

This being a whisky bar that is their specialty. Service is a hit or miss depending on who the bartender is that night. We have had good times and not so good times here. There are better bars on Main Street.

I don't like leaving poor reviews, but this one HAD to be left, we had family & friends that flew in from North Carolina to help celebrate the holidays, we went out for a Sunday night dinner, which is to be followed by cocktails, so here goes.....We walked into the Whiskey Bar downtown Boise, all happy & ready to drink. The Whiskey Bar only had 1 person sitting at the bar enjoying a Jimmy Johns sandwich & a bottle of beer watching the 49ers play the Bills, I'm sure it was the doorman. We grabbed a spot at the bar, started asking a few questions about Whiskey's, the bartender was extremely annoyed, didn't want to make drinks, she was more interested in talking with the doorman than to take care of the 8 of us. We ordered 2 Larceny whiskeys-neat, a Penicillin, a $3 Summer Dress, her comment was, "well you are going to make me get everything out." We ignored that, as she continued watching the football game and talking to the doorman, yelling at the game on the screen instead of our party. A couple of us even tried to engage in conversation with her, asking her about herself, she has worked there 9 years which is really hard to believe given the extremely poor service we received. She short poured every drink, she missed the glass on both mixed cocktails with several ingredients all while trying to watch a game and swearing at the t.v. The service was by far the worst any of us have ever received, we left her a small tip, which she didn't deserve, she picked up the receipt, scoffed at it, walked down to her doorman friend and gave us a dirty look, in front of all of us....We left due to the rude service, went to Pengilly's Saloon, spent the night drinking & dancing. I would stay as far away from the Whiskey Bar as possible after this experience!

Excellent cocktails. Aptly named, more whiskey options than others but I also enjoyed a nice gin cocktail.

The whiskey bar is fantastic. It's a cozy bar with high quality drinks at great prices, especially during happy hour. My so and I have been here numerous times and we've never had a bad experience. It's particularly nice in the spring when they start opening up the garage doors/windows and the chill atmosphere and weather make for a particularly relaxing evening.
