Always great food and service. Best in Boise.

Talk about a bang for your buck! The waiter Samuel was constantly keeping the water full and she even offered to babysit my Goldfish for free while I’m visiting family in Russia for a week! You get 3 meals for like $14 and that includes miso soup and diet soda. Boise sure does know it’s China Food! Especially being Blackfoot Native I felt welcomed.

Oh how far could a legacy fall. Bad service, bad food, bad drinks yet charged over$100 for the ?privilege.

My husband has a wheat allergy and they are always so good to help us pick the right options. He's never had a reaction after eating there.

Today we got the shrimp fried rice and snow white chicken ( both GF). 😋 Yum! Great portions and delicious.

10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Especially if you're Black. At first I thought I was just over reacting but from the moment I walked in the door I could feel the vibe shift as if why was I there. I have given this place 2 more chances since then and each time I was given the same reception. Today, I ordered the sizzling rice soup (quart size) and dumplings for $30 and had to come back twice because I didn't receive the necessities such as utensils and sauces. The second time I came back was due to the fact that the sizzling rice FOR THE SIZZLING RICE SOUP was not in the bag and was told that I have to ask for it. Why call it sizzling rice if I have to request the sizzling rice? The dark haired hostess is rude and unprofessional and im glad I didn't feel like crashing out today. I will never give this establishment another dime of my money since my kind isn't wanted there. I would give 0 stars if I could.

I’ve been going to Yen Ching since 1992, when I was just three years old. Growing up, this place was full of good memories — my family and I would come here often, and I remember the food being fantastic, the atmosphere warm, and the inside completely different from what it is now.

Unfortunately, it just isn’t the same these days. On my recent visit, I ordered takeout and was disappointed. The General Tso’s chicken felt like only half a portion, the Pad Thai didn’t have much flavor, and the hot and sour soup — once my favorite — just wasn’t what it used to be. For what I got, it felt very overpriced.

I’m giving three stars, mainly out of nostalgia and appreciation for all the good meals and memories from the past. But compared to what it used to be, Yen Ching no longer delivers the same experience.

Im not much a picky eater but i come here once a week and the food is decently priced and the taste is pretty amazing. I usually sit outside so i cant comment on the inside atmosphere but the staff is always friendly and they are very quick to tend to you.

Overall I had a overwhelmingly uninteresting experience. I fear that the sheer volume of dishes on the menu (over 100) led to de-specialization and as a result, produced medicore food. Service was alright, our servers in particular may have also found their workplace unintersting. Tea was great though and their Thai dishes are pretty good. My partner ordered the Kung Pao dish, and received a watered down oriental salad with rice. I feel that strategic changes to the menu and services will help this restaurant prosper amidst it's competition. All in all though they have much to learn.

It was ok. The Kung Pao Chicken was more celery than anything else. The Thai Chicken was ok. This restaurant is not a horrible place. Just mediocre. People seemed nice. Tea was good.

Love this restaurant. It opened in the '80s when I was living in Boise so when I came back to visit I took a friend there and was not disappointed. Good selection of food served quickly with a friendly staff and pleasant environment. Best place in Boise for Chinese food.

The food is not too bad. I enjoyed practicing my Chinese with the wait staff while I waited for my takeout.

I don't understand the negative reviews. The food is GREAT. Dim sum tasted awesome. Every dish order came out hot and on point. Strongly recommend this place for excellent Chinese cuisine.
