We like zeppole. The employees are really friendly and helpful. We like their brutti rolls, sourdough loaf and challah buns, etc. We love all their bread! Their pastries aren’t great but if they have a bag on their day old discounted rack take them home, pop them in the oven and they’re better than they were fresh. Their almond croissant is one of the worst I’ve had. It’s seriously lacking filling but as I said, take home the day old ones, add frangipane and pop it in the oven. Delicious! Still love Zeppole!
Delicious breakfast sandwich on their Brutti roll. Scone and coffee were great too. Kind staff. We’ll be back our next time in Boise for sure! The fresh bread and rolls look amazing. Wish we were staying to try those as well.

Pay your employees. I worked a shift and was never compensated.
We moved from Idaho in 2014. Since leaving, we have lived in NC, SC, HI, and now VA. Each year I order boxes of Pumpkin bread. My kids (especially my son) asks me every year to order it. My son said he wanted to go to Boise State when he goes to college just so he can be closer to Zeppole for the Pumpkin bread. 🤣 Mr. Charles is pretty fantastic.
Walking into the place noticed it was a nice and clean atmosphere.
They had a little game table to the right. Plenty of seating around the place.
I ordered a breakfast croissant, and a white chocolate mocha.
The employees seamed quiet and not that welcoming.
My white chocolate mocha tasted really milked down.
The sandwich tasted good just very thin.
They have a day old leftovers area you can get things 50% off I got a box of coffee cake muffins, and buns.
Looking forward to trying those later.

I’d love to know how Zeppole gets away selling a loaf of their “ciabatta bread” when it’s not even a reasonable facsimile of the real thing. Ciabatta is a rustic Italian bread with a flat elongated shape because of its high hydration and long pre-ferment (biga). Real ciabatta’s crust is crunchy and golden brown with flour that was used to dust it in the rising/shaping process still visible on the surface, and the crumb is moist and chewy with large irregular holes. The person showing me their big loaf that's been dimpled and covered in dry rosemary (like focaccia?) told me “it’s how WE make it.”
Really not very good food. I got their cinnamon twigs at the farmers market a few years back and loved them. I was back in the area and specifically sought them out for more cinnamon twigs but they didn't have any. Sounds like they don't make them all of the time. Since we were there we tried other stuff and it was overpriced and bland. The berry scone was flavorless and was like eating a mouthful of flour. The next time I'm in the Boise area I'll call before I drive there to make sure they have the twigs first.

Great Bakery! Love the Muffins and Cookies. They have sandwiches and fresh bread and coffee and a few other pastries. It is just simple, flavorful food in a great location with amazing wait staff who are kind and funny and very personable. Love the place! It is a very well run business.

Wow, what an enlightening experience at Zeppole today. I walked in with the wild, outlandish expectation of ordering three turkey club sandwiches. Silly me — apparently, that’s a foreign concept here. There was no menu in sight (because who needs menus when you’re running a food establishment?), and the staff treated my presence like I had just asked them to solve a math equation on the spot.
When I said “turkey club,” one employee gave me the kind of look usually reserved for someone who just tried to order sushi at a gas station. Then came the interrogation: “What do you want on it?” I don’t know, maybe… the stuff that usually comes on a turkey club? Turkey. Bacon. Lettuce. Tomato. Mayo. You know, the basics that every human who’s ever eaten lunch knows.
But okay, I played along, got the sandwiches, and left. Big mistake. When we opened them up later, it looked like someone had vaguely heard of a sandwich once and tried to recreate it from memory (see photo). Just turkey, a few sad veggies, and dry bread. No bacon. No mayo. No love. It was like the ghost of a sandwich — and not a particularly friendly one.

I stopped by this cafe on my way to work one day to grab some food and a coffee, I had never been before. When I was waiting for my sandwich to be made (grilled cheese with tuna) the worker came out of the back area with a tub of tuna, I could see the date on it and it was 3 days past expired. I called out to get his attention to double check that I was reading correctly, I asked him if I could see the date on the label, he kindly grabbed the tub and showed me and what I saw was correct, it was expired by 3 days, I could smell the sourness when he brought the tub closer to me. I kindly asked to not continue my order as the tuna is expired, he started to argue with me to say that it wasn't expired and just had the wrong date on it. I told him it smelled sour and he just shrugged, walking back to continue the order. I started to leave the cafe and another employee yelled out and said I still had to pay for the sandwich. I will never make the mistake of going here again. Also the tables had trash all over them while no one but the employees were in there, all standing around talking until I came in to place my order. Sorry if anyone else had to experience this. I've called the food and health department to report them correctly.

Ordered a roasted red pepper sandwich and Strawberry mocha. Sandwich literally had nothing much in it and strawberry mocha was nice, something I was trying for the first time.

I thought no bread could be as good as the sliced sourdough, but I just tried the sourdough baguette and wow! So incredibly delicious. Their bread is just spectacular!

Fun little sandwich and soup spot! Staff were friendly and food was tasty! Good variety of options! Bought a loaf of sourdough bread too for home that was also very much enjoyed!

Very good food. The coffee is great. Try the blueberry lemon scone. It's amazing. The restaurant is clean, and they have an amazing selection. The grilled cheese is melted cheese perfection! The roasted red pepper sandwich is really good, too! My only complaint is that one of the workers was exceptionally grumpy. Perhaps she was having a bad day? The two guys were very friendly and helpful.
