Being from the coast, this is the best sushi spot you can go to in north Idaho. The sushi chefs even have amazing art skills in their sushi and design.

This should be 0 stars. I've read these reviews and I cannot fathom that these people were in the same restaurant as me.
We ordered yellowtail jalapeno and avocado bombs for appetizers. The Yellowtail Jalapeno was the best thing we had - very simple and boring but well flavored. The avocado bombs are... Well, bombs. Gross. Messy fried stuffed full of fake nasty krab. Absolutely inedible. My husband ate 2 because he was starving but I couldn't even stomach one.
I should have known when I looked at the menu that we were in for grocery store sushi. Every roll is filled with fake krab or spicy tuna or "mixed fish" lol. We tried 5 different ones. None of them had any vegetables in them so they had no texture. Mushy gross, lukewarm rolls. Cat food texture. Rolled poorly. Flavors were not there, everything was sooooooo nasty. Nothing was cold enough and nothing was fresh. Not a vegetable or crunch to be found. They love to use raw panko on rolls (ew?) or on random dishes - I don't understand why. Honestly, Yokes has better sushi lol and it's rolled right there.
Besides the food being atrocious, the service was poor and the atmosphere was gross as we were by the hand washing sink. A half wall would solve this problem, but honestly they should fix their food first. Yuck!

1000% recommend? Sushi in Idaho? Yep, it’s legit. Wondering if the Kardashians are funding this joint because it’s on point. You know it’s real when the sushi chefs are speaking Japanese. Don’t miss out 🤞🏻🥂

Maybe is was due to being Monday, but this was a solid "Meh".
It was fairly busy (lots of turnover), and our table ordered an ensemble of Japanese restaurant foods: Tempura, Sushi, and Yakisoba.
The tempura was 1/5. It didn't seem like the vegetables had been trimmed from the pre-cut bag they might have come in. Zucchini was the size of a tuna can, and super greasy like garlic bread. The broccoli about the size of a raquet ball and a solid lump of mostly raw stem. Onion and sweet potato were meh, and the shrimps were both tempura *and* panko dredged, and undercooked. Weak.
The yakisoba was just very average. Almost like it came from a package.
We had both nigiri and maki sushi. Barely above grocery store quality. "Barely" reiterates my wife as I write this.
3/5 feels generous. It had nice atmosphere, was clean, and not crazy expensive, but the food is like airline food.

Excellent dinner at Shiki. I have a high bar when it comes to raw fish. Shiki did not disappoint. Atmosphere is warm and inviting. Restaurant is clean. Sushi chef and his ingredients were in full view as is traditional. This is one of the best staffed restaurants in CDA. From seating, to serving, to bussing, and cashing out, staff was energetic and friendly. The best part was the food. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful - Chef's Special Blue Mountain Roll, Pork Gyoza, Steamed Rice, Fried Rice, Spicy Edamame, & Green Tea. The place was bustling with happy customers. Our new go-to for sushi in CDA. Thank you for the amazing meal and service!
