We eat here often when in town for family events. We always have a large group (yesterday it was 11) and kudos to the Rib Shack as their staff is always so welcoming and accommodating. The bbq and food is of course so delicious too. We keep coming back as everyone one of all generations enjoys it and has a good time. Thank you Rib Shack!

Sadly this was for my hubby's birthday dinner and is first time we have left without eating our food and was so bad we didn't take with. My TriTip was cold n tough and my smashed potatoes which are my favorite were cold and either under cooked as they were hard or leftovers that were infridge n not reheated properly. Hubby's was the same.

As soon as you walk in you can smell the bbq. Ribs fall off the bone. Mac n cheese was delicious. The decor is super fun. Clean and good music. People are sweet. Love this place!

How hard is it to make a proper burnt end? It hurts to write this review but if you don't speak up how will the know? From my favorite Q to I doubt I'll go back. Burnt ends should be tender not little rocks. Highly disappointed.

The food was good but should have been warmer. My complaint was the fact that 1) a billboard was posted on how to order: "Order your entree with 2 sides." The implication was the sides were included with the entree. Well not so! The sides I ordered were Tater Tots ($5.50) and Salad ($4.50). 2) I ordered Turkey which showed a price of $9.50 on the board but I was charged $10.99. 3) The Tater Tots were not served hot. 4) The service was ok but I was initially brought a dinner that was intended for another party. Overall the meal was a disappointment. If I go back at least now I know what to expect.

I would give zero stars if I could, customer service was good awful, these teens nowadays really are turning away customers over 30 mins left until closing. Got a dirty look from the he/she/they/them/it? Waitress.

I’m a bit of a BBQ snob after living in Kansas City and this is the only place I’ll get BBQ in the treasure valley. The ribs, brisket, and smoked turkey are my favorite!

Went to dinner with our friends for dinner and ordered the Trash Can, which came with burnt ends, brisket, turkey, pulled pork, and ribs. The food was good, but some were dry/over cooked. We chose the dirty rice - spicy but good, macaroni and cheese, and something else. I also ordered a side of wings, which were good, but when the server delivered them he dropped one on my lap then hit the floor. I didn't receive any ranch/blue cheese/or celery with the order.

Kind of a mixed bag. First, it's January and some heat in the place would be nice. I had to have my jacket on the entire time there. The hostess admitted she was really cold, too. I ordered the prime rib dip sandwich. I was asked if I wanted fries or slaw. I opted for the slaw. My wife wanted a sliced brisket sandwich. Curiously, the hostess claimed that they don't do sandwiches. Well, OK then. The hostess offered that she could get a large piece of bread along with the meat and assemble it herself. We sat and got our food. Mine ended up coming with a heap of fries AND the slaw. Everything was good. My wife's came and it was OK, but the bread was dry and it was that kind with a really short crumb...more like something for butter and jam, not BBQ. She said the meat was good. This place has been there a while now, so I'm assuming they're making a go of things. But, for the life of me I can't recall a barbecue joint here, California or Texas, over my nearly 70 years that doesn't serve the meat as a sandwich. Not that you HAVE to get it in sandwich form, but it always appears that that is what most people are ordering when you look around at the tables. But, I only ate there and no one asked me, so it is what it is.

My first impression of the quality of this barbecue came in May of 2023 at a catered wedding, was delicious and so good that I decided to take my girlfriend to the dine in location in Eagle for her birthday. If I'd ever seen Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in the form of food quality this was it. We were the only people in the restaurant around 5 pm 1/4/24 and the format for ordering, paying, and tipping all before you see or taste your food or the "service" that you tipped for. In hindsight this is probably the only way this physical restaurant location can stay in business. Because if you received your portions, quality of the food, and service and were then handed a bill I think things would get ugly in this place pretty quickly. (This is not and exaggeration, look at other reviews.) Burnt ends were the driest and most flavorless I've ever had. Ordered a pound for the girlfriend and I to share and when the food arrived we looked at her mother's plate and she had also ordered the burnt ends and had the same portion size. We asked if she had ordered the full pound and replied that she got the 1/2 pound. This is a Texas themed barbecue place with Shiner beer signs as part of the décor. Ask for a shiner, sorry we're out, ask for fries, sorry we're out. Ask for a lime for your alternate beer corona.....you guessed it we're out. Every sauce tasted like straight vinegar. No one in our party had anything positive to say about their meal. I almost felt embarrassed for this establishment that (based on older reviews) was great at one time. If you are looking for barbecue in the valley avoid this place at all costs. Go to Big Daddy's or even the chain Dickey's or the Albertson's market street on Fairview. This review may sound harsh but it's a straightforward and honest assessment for the experience.
