While the wine was enjoyable (we did the sparkling flight- it’s funky in a good way), and I liked the atmosphere, lackluster service holds Split Rail’s tasting room back from its potential.

Ooooof. This experience was rough. Went tasting on Saturday when they opened (there was 2 people in there when our party of 6 arrived). We did the taster for $20/person. The service was atrocious. Sat waiting for second tasting for 20 minutes, where I had to ask them if we were responsible for telling if we were finished (I have no idea how this kind of tasting works) and the girl working there gave me eye roll with attitude. Our server then switched to someone else who was also rude. For example, my grandma is hard of hearing and asked where they sourced the grapes from. The waiter replied with the most condescending "Like I said before." I looked at my sister with wide eyes surprised by the amount of attitude towards an 83 year old grandma. I've been in the restaurant industry for many years and have had my bad days, but I wouldn't treat customers like they did us. I would not recommend going here.

Not my favorite winery that we went to. I wasn't a fan of the space or the vibe. It seemed to be seeking a specific clientele, which was not me at all. We did the guided flight and the server would come over to pour each wine. I did appreciate the descriptions of the wine that were on the wine list. They were very tongue-in-cheek. Overall, the wine was ok. The space was ok. The service was friendly and quick. But the winery overall was forgettable for me.

This place was phenomenal. We tasted several amazing wines and I was really blown away by the artistic style of the winemaker. It's a must for anyone who really understands wine and has a taste for creativity!

We had an okay experience. There were only two people working so we had mid expectations. The wine was good but the communication and the frequency in which we received service was lacking. We had no idea what the "guided flight" process was or that our server was off work in the middle of our "guided process" so the other person finished our last couple wines. The first one was well guided and explained but the second was introduced but not explained, they compensated with an extra pour because I'm sure running the place alone was a lot but we felt overall not super satisfied with the experience.... We hope to come back and redeem the experience sometime. Good wines though, don't get me wrong.

If I could give more stars I would! Never had a bad experience at Split Rail and I’ve been a loyal customer for years. Staff always welcomes everyone warmly. Their guided tastings are top notch. Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and happy to answer any questions about the fabulous wines and the venue. The new building and patio are amazing! I highly recommend Split Rail!! ?

The absolute worst customer service we’ve ever experienced. We were a large crowd. We called ahead numerous days in advance so they’d be prepared. Upon arrival she told us we were only allowed in the private area so they could “coral” us. They were not ready at all. They then said they would not serve us in the private area and would only serve us at the bar so we were forced back out of the private area. They have no idea how to interact with social humans. Zero playful attitude what-so-ever. One person in the party did find interest in one server’s very long nails and asked questions as to how she navigates life with her nails. She was immediately offended. She did state she struggles to pick up papers from a flat surface so he asked how she handles toilet paper. She stomped off and told her peer. Both her and her peer immediately assumed he was asking about using the restroom however his question was general. He was asked to leave. It was very clear they have no ability to handle the growth of the valley and the diversity it brings. It appears the employees discriminate and only prefer to serve a certain clientele.

Great hangout. Wine was good. Patio was awesome. Server by by herself and still kept up and was very friendly. I’ll be back. Just wish the patio had cornhole

Amazing staff and top tier wines.

Warm and welcoming. Had a wonderful time tasting and buying wine. High point of an otherwise disappointing tour of snooty and crowded tasting rooms in Garden City. Highly recommend!

A plus for this tasting room/winery is that they are open on Mondays! Jenny, the server, was friendly and helpful. I liked the decor of the place. I also appreciated Jenny letting us taste additional items like vermouth which prompted me to purchase two bottles to take back to San Francisco. One thing that I was surprised to find out they don't sell wineskins so you can pack a bottle or two in your suitcase to bring home. Not enough of demerit to take away a star, but it's something to do for visitors.
