Local Japanese and sushi favorite that came highly recommended. After experiencing two delightful meals at this family owned local spot I can see why my local family members dine here as frequently as they can, claiming it as I’m certain many others do to be one of their favorite spots for any occasion. I’ll be back next month to eat more delicious chicken teriyaki, as we hope Pop will be back with the Spurs by then too.
Parking: Easy and plenty of spots.

Kid-friendliness: The owner and his son that own this business are so sweet, kind and welcoming especially to children. I love their food and how the owner and his son make the place feel like home

Wow, it was amazing.
I am Japanese and miss real Japanese foods here in North Idaho.
Little Kyoto makes me smile like I'm home! The family is really nice and great people.
Lunch bento box is great deal 👌
Curry is good portion, teriyaki chicken is juicy, sushi is the best around here (including Spokane) because other Japanese restaurants don't know how to make real sushi rice but Little Kyoto does perfect job every time!
Rice is the important for Sushi and they understand it very well.

Desperate for some grub, my husband and I headed into Hayden to find some sustenance. We decided to try out Little Kyoto. As you drive up you won’t find what you’re looking for, unless you’re looking for a cute house with a Little Kyoto sign off to the side.
While the outside looks residential, once you walk in, you find yourself in a cozy dining area with smooth elevator music playing in the background. (Which was nice, because our food took a minute to get to us) We were on the hunt for sushi, so we ordered the Spicy Salmon, the Tornado Roll, and the Spider Roll.
The restaurant is a mom and pop shop, which lends to a warm dining experience, but also lends itself to longer wait times for food. Our waiter was very kind and kept us topped off with water throughout the night. When our food arrived, it was decent. The fresh fish in the salmon roll was wonderful, but the tornado roll was a little cream cheese heavy. My husband and I both agreed that the flavor of the Tornado Roll was there, but it was hidden under a thick layer of dairy.
In all, a super cozy spot to munch some seafood. The sushi was good, but not amazing, and the wait time had us on our phones after the first 30 min. Expect a nice visit, just not a quick one!

I've driven by this place hundreds of times as I have lived less than a mile away for about five years and finally went here thanks to a recommendation from a neighbor. It's literally some of the best sushi in North Idaho. Prices are very reasonable and the staff was really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend! The basic salmon rolls were inexpensive and sooooo tasty!

Basic atmosphere and service...but when the food shines this much that's all the matters! Took us years to get here, but we will be back at every chance - so good!

leaving a review because there was 666 reviews so i need to break that. god bless!
Got there, only one other table, took over an hour to get two rolls? Owner came out not to apologize but to tell us he was out of something? Then the wife came over and said she hopes I feel better? She also took my husband's plate before he was done eating...will not be back.
