Great breakfast, I like the omelettes and cheesy hash browns. Also, they have pretty good desserts. Their bacon is a bit fatty and stringy.

Treated myself to a hearty breakfast at Black Bear. Was impressed withe the portions and service. Great food. Dovan was my friendly server. Highly recommend eating there.

When I visited 11 months ago I gave all 5 stars due to the excellent service (BTW I visit this location a lot on my monthly trips to Yellowstone). Since my last visit - it’s not so great. When I recently visited and placed an order it was brought to me with a couple of items missing. When I was asking the waitress about them - maybe they forgot them or I made a mistake - the manager who was a very large man, black beard, mustache and bad teeth came over and yelled at me and got spit in my face! It was really awful. I still do not know why this reaction was necessary for trying to figure out if I had mis-ordered or if the items were forgotten??? It turned out that they had substituted the two items for another item I had also ordered. I had wanted all items included with my plate and an extra item. The deal is that I really enjoy the hash browns and this plate did not include them. They substituted the two sides on that plate for the hashbrowns I had also wanted. FYI the waitress was very nice and seemed capable of helping me figure out what was going on with my order and I felt so bad for her. She looked just as stunned as I was with his quick pop in pop out on this issue! I visit a lot of Black Bear Diners on my many travels - including the one in Mt Shasta, Ca this summer this one is no longer the best.

I’m not sure why I keep trying this place maybe because it used to be a place we always came to to eat. However, the last almost year now it’s always new staff. If you come in and it’s one of the newer staff you will not get your food or even your order put in for a LONG time. Just went in with my two girls to eat. We got seated and then the waitress never came to our table to greet us or even take our drink order. We waited around 15 minutes before we ended up just walking out. No one said anything to us after they sat us down or even came back. This is the second time this has happened and last time I said I wasn’t going to try this place again, but I got talked into trying it again by a waiter that has been there for a long time now with who we love, but unless he’s there and serves us, it’s never a good experience here. Oh, and they weren’t busy at all. There was only one table there other than us.

Food was good but parts were forgotten. We did receive them after asking, cook didn't feel like making brown gravy so we had turkey gravey. Always love black bear but service and staff was definitely off tonight.

We used to love this place, the hospitality and service has gone down hill. We ordered steaks, and the cook was gossiping with the server saying out loud we’re not a steak house. Very unprofessional.”

Chebby is the best server there is. We always love coming to black bear. The food is always amazing and the service is top tier. When you go ask to be seated in Chebbys section. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I ordered some breakfast and the only thing that we got that was cooked all the way was the pancakes I probably won't get food from this place e ever again
