I feel like my 2 star review is pretty generous for the experience we had at Black Bear Diner tonight. We were seated right away and then nobody looked at us, talked to us, anything for 15 minutes. Then after we finally got our drinks it was another 15-20 minutes before we even ordered. I’m fine waiting but it was about an hour before we even got our food. The food was fine, ranch was chunky with bacon bits in it. We were very disappointed. It seems like this location has been headed downhill with its service for a while now.

Today April 21 2024 9:50am I came in with my gf and senior citizen friend, the hostess never greeted us, the lobby was full and she proceeded to seat 3 lady's who came in after us, my senior citizen friend mentioned to the hostess we were here first, she completely ignored her sat them anyway making us wait longer. When we addressed it she simply said oh sorry. Absolutely ridiculous we have came here 3 times on our visit traveling though this weekend, if this is how u treat your customers, we will NEVER COME BACK, the nerve of that rude hostess. 0 stars out of 10. As soon as we mentioned it to her she went and whispered something to the cooks who then all looked over at our table.Very interesting. Super rude, disrespectful and will take our hard earned money somewhere else. What happened to customer service????????

I am changing my 5 star review to 1 star for the following reason: I have attempted several times to get management to address the tip option being removed from online ordering. I don't know why it was removed, and quite frankly, I don't care. But if the best that management can think of to resolve whatever issue is to remove the tip option, then they do not belong in management. It has been a months long downhill spiral that has greatly effected not only, I'm sure, the employee moral and desire to provide the best service and food, but also has resulted in the customer receiving continually worsening service and the desire to go elsewhere. I am convinced that whomever has decided to resolve what I can only assume was a greed fueled dispute between employees over who receives tips for online pick up orders is themselves a child like individual placed in a position they are not adequately experienced or capable of properly performing. To that person I say: thanks for ruining a perfectly good thing for EVERYONE!!!!!!! And no, I'm not an employee, but a former VERY REGULAR customer who has held on for months hoping this issue would be resolved by someone who knows what they're doing. BUMMER!!!

Tony was our waiter and was the best waiter we have ever had anywhere!! He was kind to our kids, kept my coffee full, and made sure we had what we needed. We will come back again just for Tony!!!The food was great too ? but the service made it even better

Attentive, friendly service and amazing food!The restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived (Saturday evening). The atmosphere was a woodsy take on old fashioned american family sit down diners. The place was clean inside and out (including the bathrooms). Our server Hector took excellent care of us, checking in when we needed refills without being overbearing. The food was incredible. We enjoyed chicken fried steaks that were crispy and tender and our daughter's chicken and waffles simply disappeared! All in all it was well worth the price.

I can’t comment on the food too much because both times I’ve been there I haven’t been able to eat. After going to one in Salt Lake City and having a great experience we decided to go to the one here. Our first try a few months ago we stood there waiting to be seated for about 5 minutes, it was not busy at that time at all, there may have been 7 tables full, 2 employees stood in the corner talking. We decided to try it again this past Wednesday night, again not really that busy with less than 10 tables full. This time we were actually seated and got our drinks. We sat there another 20-25 minutes without seeing our waiter again until I went up to pay for our drinks so we could leave. He did apologize and that there was only one cook on at that time (6pm). I got the impression that the cook could only cooks the food for one table at a time and that they could only take the order for one table at a time. I don’t have the time to wait 30 minutes for our order to be taken when there are not that busy to begin with, especially with a hungry 5 year old.
