Extremely disappointing. Food is edible but not nearly worth the prices they're charging. The only reason i didnt do one star is because we ate our meals and the waitress was nice. This place used to be good, ages ago but has gone very downhill. We ate there a few years back and were disappointed but decided to try again. We walked away with the same opinion. Probably will never go back.
Service was not very good and our meals were just okay. Took almost an hour for our food to come out. We weren't offered any bread or even really checked on. We've had much better experiences at Sandpiper in the past.
5 STARS for sure. Everything we had was amazing. The marionberry basilade was so refreshing, I love basil in my drink so this was perfect for me. The stuffed mushrooms were absolutely delicious. My mom had the pork shank and OMG it was huge!!!! She thoroughly enjoyed it and had a bunch to take home because there was so much, it fed her for 2 more meals. I had the surf and turf to sample a couple things and equally amazing. Ended with the creme brulee which had the thickest sugar layer I have experienced! We did get the mud pie to go and had it the next day and definitely will be getting that again. Overall, it was such an amazing dinner. Megan was our waitress and she was super awesome. We ended up getting some gift cards as well because they were on special. I will be back :)
The food and service were exemplary. Our server let us know there was a large party and got our order in ahead of theirs so we wouldn't have to wait. The food was really good very flavorfull and well presented.
Or dinner was very tasty and our waiter was very attentive and efficient. The Piper salad is one of our favorites.
Wonderful atmosphere, staff that go above and beyond, and DELICIOUS food. Thank you!

Always loved Sandpiper and loved Arugula! I was hopeful that they wouldn’t fix what was not broken and keep the good dishes they built their business on. I quit enjoying going there after years of being gluten free and only having a tiny choice of items to order. Then to my delight a couple years ago they added gluten free pasta and several other menu choices. Then it sold. Now no more gluten free pasta, very limited choices for me. I get tired of the same dish over and over. Also, they’re always “out” of their famous prime rib. I don’t understand why the Arugula restaurant had good gluten free options, then new owner did away with them at Sandpiper. I don’t mind paying if I get something I can enjoy, and Sandpiper feels like home to us—-but I doubt very much I will be returning, unless it’s for a drink and bucket of clams on the deck in summer….
tanner is a great young man. knows how to charm an old gal and make her feel special.

We visited this restaurant 3 times during our stay in Idaho falls The first visit was a a single and i had a great experience, the food was good and the service was great The second vist was witha group of 6 Waitress was overworked and had too many tables After a long wait we had our food , some cold and ill timed, some good the manager was not involved and didnt help an overwhelmed server The next night we had 14 people from an amazing group of artisans We initially were seated in the bar for drinks and to listen to the artist singing and playing guitar Unfortunately the manager decided we were blocking exits with our table and moved us to a room-that was out of the way No server served us and the very young inexperienced manager when confronted about poor service said we were welcome to leave I gave him my famous greeting and we left and went to a much better place to have fun Would not recommend this place ever again, even though i had a good experience as a single Uptight a holes who cant handle a group
Befware after dinner you might be cornered and guilt tied into giving more of a gratuity This s B.S by any standard is nit she wasn’t tipped properly but it didn’t seem to be enough. She would get out of the way for my party to leave until she felt she got enough not to mention we ordered our Prime Rib medium rare not shot killed and slapped on a plate causing it to have to be cut with a chain saw. Not good!!! However you t was a good atmosphere I will give them tgat

Being from out of town we ate here years ago so we decided to try it again. I agree with others that it has a very dated atmosphere, we were given the option of indoor or patio seating, we chose indoor. The chairs are old school barrel style and hard as heck, next time I’m bringing my butt pillow! Our waiter was good, they were out of the one appetizer we wanted, no biggie. Our food came super fast, as soon as our appetizer had arrived, here came our salads-before we were finished our main dish’s had arrived. Again no biggie, in my eyes it was better than being super slow or never arriving at all! Another server dropped off our main dishes and disappeared before I could ask for more butter for my baked potato. My husband gave me his. My steak was delicious and the potato was good, not super hot as was the hollandaise sauce that came with my appetizer, luke warm. As we finished courses our plates piled up, nobody came to remove them until our waiter showed up to ask if we wanted desert. We didn’t as we were full. They have new hand held devices that take your order right at the table and are also able to tell you right then and there if something is out, I found this nice as in the past you normally waited until the waiter went back to the kitchen and found out something was out and then had to return to your table to inform you, so that was nice. At the bottom of the menus it says you can receive a discount if you pay in cash. It does not state how much. My husband hates credit cards and always pays in cash, so when our waiter finally came by our cluttered table and we said no desert he promptly pulled out his hand held device and handed it to my husband. He said we are paying in cash and the waiter said oh, ok. Our bill had come to 133.00. We had no drinks, I had ice water. My husband handed him 150 dollars, and the waiter said would you like any change? My husband said no that’s good, and the waiter said “is seventeen dollars ok”? And my husband said yes, I then noticed the waiter shoot me a look,I wasn’t sure exactly why, was he wanting me to intervene? I got the distinct feeling that the waiter was miffed by the 17 dollar tip. I was very uncomfortable and it has bothered me since so this is why I’m writing today. The waiter didn’t come right out and say anything, but he implied…… I have never in my entire life had this happen when dining out, and yes I’ve been in the service industry my entire life. I know the tipping culture has gotten way out of control, but when we left I was bothered by the whole interaction. And what about the discount for paying in cash? Our waiter never said anything about that, was it added into his 17 dollar tip? Don’t know. We will be back but in the future will be more outspoken about the entire procedure. I really didn’t feel we had exceptional service, it was ok, but not great, and by the way it wasn’t very busy that night. If I’m out of line I feel bad, but our waiter made me feel bad when we left and has ever since. Our dinner should have been something enjoyable to remember, not dwell on!
