Our afternoon at Sun Valley’s Roundhouse Restaurant was an unforgettable mountain adventure. We decided to hike up the trail and work up an appetite, enjoying the stunning alpine scenery along the way. When we arrived, the Roundhouse greeted us with an inviting, upper-class mountain lodge vibe — but we felt completely at ease, sweaty and dirty from our hike.
The restaurant is both kid-friendly and dog-friendly, which made it perfect for our little crew. We settled on the patio, enjoying drinks and appetizers while playing a board game, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. They didn’t rush us at all, letting us relax and take in the beautiful mountain views.
Pro tip for visitors: hike up and ride the gondola down to fully experience the Sun Valley resort trails. The drinks were expertly crafted, the food was flavorful and satisfying, and the service was top-notch. The dog-friendly patio makes this a great spot for hikers, families, and pet owners alike.
Whether you’re looking for a casual mountain dining experience, a romantic date idea, or a fun day out with the kids and pup, Roundhouse on the mountain is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back for another scenic, delicious afternoon at Sun Valley!

We were able to eat on the deck this year and had beautiful weather. The deck is dog friendly so our little dog could sit next to us. The wait staff was excellent, and the food was amazing. We will definitely be going back next year.

We went to the roundhouse about 4 years ago for dinner during the winter and swore we would never go back because the prices were ridiculous for what we received. We decided to try it again for lunch in the summer and were pleasantly surprised. The prices were reasonable and the food was very good as was the view. I have two suggestions though. Add to your dessert menu and don't charge for the gondola ride if you have a reservation. The cost of the ride doubled the bill. The views were spectacular but not worth the 40 dollars each to ride up and back to eat.

What a fabulous restaurant with the most amazing views! Our server Terry and fast Eddy were so kind and helpful. Terry gave us some delicious options as soon as we sat down and the salmon BLT was delicious along with the perfect truffle fries. We will definitely go back the next time we are in town!

Roundhouse has the coolest mountain fresh air vibe ever! Gondola up, chairlift to the next level hike around and then have lunch inside or out. Great adult beverages! Charcuterie board, lamb burger, pecan Gorgonzola salad can't be beat except to do it again another day. Rinse and repeat! We loved our server Ryan!
