We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. Plan on bringing the rest of the family back - and we will likely try the Sunday brunch as well!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tonight my husband and I, along with two of our friends, had our date nights here. We each had our own tables. During dinner my friends texted me saying, “This is one of the best meals we’ve ever had. We love this place and our waiter!”

Now onto our food — I ordered the calamari, and it was beautifully fried, crisp, and golden. It came with two sauces: the spicy one was divine, and the marinara gravy was absolutely fabulous. As an Italian New Yorker, I haven’t found gravy that good since moving here. It was a true taste of home.

I also ordered the linguine with clam sauce. The flavor was outstanding — juicy, briny, full of depth. The clam broth was so delicious my waiter even brought me a soup spoon because I couldn’t stop drinking it! The Caesar salad had the best homemade dressing — fresh and full of flavor.

Tonight was one of the best nights of my life. Truly spectacular. ✨

We wanna thank the manager Bryce, for this perfect night

My wife and I went to Nick’s Italian Ristorante for the first time today. And just to let people know, we eat out regularly, every weekend, and enjoy trying new places.

We actually arrived before it opened at 3:30pm, so we walked around for a little while, returning about 3:25 pm. We went inside when they opened, so we weee the first customers. When we were taken to a table with a common back wall and two chairs, my wife asked about the open booths against the front windows. The young lady told her that those booths were for larger parties. Each booth had four place settings.

So we stayed where we were seated. A few minutes went by and a party of six was seated at a booth and then another party of two, like us, was seated at another booth. After a little while we were greeted by our server, Hunter. She was very attentive and did a great job. I ordered the steak dip sandwich which was described as having Coulotte steak, caramelized onions, provolone, mascarpone, fig mustard and arugula on a ciabatta bun with a side of au-jus. I asked for a side salad. The salad was very good.

The sandwich steak was ordered and cooked medium. I have had Coulette steak in the past at the now closed Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar at the Village at Meridian. That steak sandwich was amazing. The steak was melt on your mouth tender! So my expectations here was that this steak would be similar. Boy was I wrong. It was actually somewhat tough. When I dipped it in the au-jus, I expected it to heat up the sandwich and add more beef flavor. The flavor was good but it was barely warm and not hot. What should have been a star, barely fizzled. I was disappointed.

The only good thing was my wife’s order, which was the Ravioli Marinara. My wife enjoyed it very much. I tried it and it was very good.

By the time we left, all of the booths were still open except for the two I originally described. It’s amazing that we were not offered a booth if others 5 minutes behind us were. It wasn’t how we were dressed since I was wearing a button up shirt and jeans. My wife was dressed impeccably. The couple that got the booth were older than us, we are in our sixties, and dressed very casual, t shirts and jeans. The man was wearing a baseball style hat as well. So I don’t know if this was some kind of discrimination or what but I was not happy being told me were not allowed a booth as well.

If this restaurant truly wants return customers, start with equal treatment of everyone. And make every dish as if it’s the best in town. Also, there was some background music that seems to be n repeat. It seemed like the same droning beat, over and over and over again. My wife wants to come back to try some more of the food on the menu. I’m not so sure I wast to patronize this business again.

I cannot recommend the pizza. I ordered 2 margherita pizzas, but the pizza was soggy and barely had any sauce “I don’t even know how that’s possible”. The flavor of the crust was great, but ultimately it was a huge waste of $45 for two personal-sized pizzas. It left me still hungry and sad 😔

Nick Italian was a fun family restaurant. Great food. Service was ok. Some people heard the specials and got drinks and some didn't. All in all, it was a good dining experience. Good pricing and food came out quick and was delicious. Definitely go back. They were able to accommodate our party of 8 and a half.

Nick's is a little bit out of the way, but once you find this hidden gem, you will not be disappointed! It's our new favorite Italian restaurant in the Boise area. The staff is super attentive and friendly and thier reccomendations are spot on!
