Gastropubs near Meridian

“This is a great little place in downtown Meridian. The outdoor seating was wonderful. There is usually a wait for walk-ins so I recommend getting that reservation.

The small park next to the outdoor seating creates a wonderful atmosphere. The hard working misters and table umbrellas help keep the area cool in the summer. And the restaurant itself is modern and industrial looking with some touches of charm that work will in the area.

The service was good, although our server seemed to disappear for nearly 30 minutes as we waited to pay our check. They were extremely busy and we were enjoying the weather and location, so we didn't mind. They may have taken a break during that time. Otherwise, our server was incredibly pleasant and a delight. She checked in just the right amount.

The food was better than good. We both had the Salmon (pictured). Everything was delicious. The tomato based sauce on top of the salmon was good but not a great pairing. The mashed potatoes were excellent. The salmon was flakey and cooked with the right amount of crispiness to its edges without drying it out.

We added the salad with honey-lime vinaigrette, and it may have been our favorite part of the meal. The dressing was so refreshing and delightful on a warm summer day.

We also threw in the Burrata Caprese as a starter. This was quite good for a starter. It too was refreshing and paired well with the slightly heavier meal.

The only negative, was that our starter, salad, and meal all came out at the same time. However, everything paired well together, and was fantastically full of flavor.

We chose the huckleberry lemonade for our drink, and I would highly recommend it. It was delicious.

I highly recommend visiting this wonderfully located restaurant in downtown Meridian. Certainly one of the better pub-based restaurants we have visited. We will try the burgers on our next visit and update our experience.“
