Whatever the bad reviews say, they are entitled and have way too high expectations. This place is good. Service was good, atmosphere was welcoming, and the food was freaking good. I got a catfish poboy, super simple but it was fried so good. The piña coladas were amazing. The other big basket with the snow crab, craw fish, and muscles was good as well. It is a bit pricey, but over all I’d go again.

Had calamari that was tasteless and rubbery. We both had baskets that if it weren't for the breading and dip sauce would have also been tasteless. Very disappointed. On the bright side the server was very good!

The restaurant was understaffed with tables sitting empty while the wait line was over an hour. Being a lifelong fan of the Cajun seafood boil I was still excited to try the food. We ordered 2 of the most expensive baskets with shrimp, snow crab, mussels and crawfish. Shrimp and mussels were good but the crab and crawfish were small, very overcooked to the point of being rubbery and had very little meat inside them. The whole meal floating in a buttery soup. We were starved so we ate most of the basket but definitely a one and done. Much better seafood in town. Maybe just a bad night.Vegetarian options: Not really availableDietary restrictions: Not a great choiceParking: Plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: Not so muchWheelchair accessibility: Yes it is accessible to wheelchair

We’ve been meaning to come here and now we’re sad we waited so long! It was delicious and we had great service. We shared the Perfect Storm Boil with Cajun sauce and selected Spicy, added corn and sausage. We didn’t need the extra corn so took that home along with plenty of shrimp and sausage for a leftover lunch. We didn’t think it was too spicy and the original Cajun sauce was outstanding! The snow crab wasn’t the sweetest crab we’ve ever had but we look forward to trying a few of the other options in their seafood boils. We will be back!

My husband and I have enjoyed the restaurant before and love it. However, this time we left unhappy. Our food was great, although I thought the chowder could be thicker and have more clam and potatoes in it. The flounder I had and the Cajun shrimp alfreado was good. It was our service that sorely lacked. He seemed more interested in getting as many tables orders as to taking care of us. We waited 20 minutes just to get him to stop so we could get our bill and a box. Never been this bad ever. We will be back, but hopefully not get this server!

I really enjoyed the food and service. We were here when they first opened and the waitress Never explained that we needed a flavor/seasoning and spice level. So what we experience was bland. We should hand gave them another try and not waited so long because this was the first meal we have had in a couple years that was worth spending our money on without feeling less than impressed.Their house seasoning is amazing. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly. This will become our new go to!

We began our visit at the bar, as it was the Saturday evening before Valentines. It was nice to see the restaurant full, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately, a very weak selection of beers on tap, and food that was underwhelming couldn't bring the rating above a 3.The deep fried lobster tails, 3oz ea, we're more like 2oz and way over cooked. The Calamari rings were rubbery, but I continued to eat them in hopes of enjoying 1 tender treat, that didn't happen. My wife and I shared the perfect storm, there's no possibility that was 1/2 lb of snow crab, the mussels were OK, as were the head off shrimp, but 3 tiny red potatoes and one 3.5" piece of frozen corn that I'd be embarrassed to serve to anyone rounded out the terrible storm. Dad enjoyed his catfish basket, but he hasn't complained about a meal in decades. Sadly, that will be our 1 and only visit to the Hook & Reel.

We loved our waitress, Danny!!! She made our visit and dinner great. I have not had a better waitress than her. She was friendly, positive and on top of everything. We really just wanted to praise her so much. The place was clean and food was very good. We will go back.

Usually when we go to hook and reel our experience is great, but today 02/05/2024, was not that. Our food was definetly below our usual. The portions were poor and the seasoning was so under done that, for the first time ever, we tried adding salt to bring out some flavor. Pretty disappointing to say the least.
