I have been going to Middleton sunrise cafe off and on for several years and I wish the dining experience was even half as good as the food. Over the years I have watched and listened to the way the manager talks to her staff and it is very disrespectful and belittling. It seems to have gotten worse over time and quite frankly, the way she was speaking to the minors last weekend made me sick. She talks down to all of her staff and makes demands of them. It’s borderline abusive the way she talks to them. She’s also very lazy and a horrible role model to those kids and her employees. I’ve watched as she takes over the majority of the restaurant and she just takes orders and visits with her regulars while she has everyone else do her work for her. Between her mouth and hoarding all the tables, it’s a wonder the other servers continue working for her. I can’t imagine them making much money with as few tables they are so graciously given. Her voice is so loud that sometimes it’s overwhelming and hard to engage in our own conversation. From the sound of it, she gossips and talks badly about everyone, especially the owner. I’ve overheard her say she’s eventually buying the place because she can operate it better than the current owner. I’ve also heard her say some pretty disturbing things in regard to his health or that he needs to go back to Puerto Rico or something like that so she can take back the reins. Not sure why she thinks it’s okay to slander her boss to their customers but it’s immature and tacky. I will not be going back for quite a long time and when I do decide to go back I hope she’s no longer there or some big changes have been made.

The manager is a bully who is unkind and downright mean to her staff. She arrogantly belittles them and embarrasses them in front of the whole restaurant. Ther servers have always been kind but she is awful. I would love to support our local business but I can’t support a place that treats their employees so badly. While I know she is not the owner, she is allowed to be the abusive manager.

My grandparents and I came in for the first time yesterday and was blown away by the service and food. I got the bargain breakfast with a Denver omelette, hash browns, and French toast. The omelette was phenomenal and full of flavor. I also was astonished by how attentive my server was and how quickly I got my food.

On Tuesday during my school lunch I came into Sunrise to see what all my friends have been talking about. I placed a to-go order with the manger and she was super easy and funny to talk to. The togo came out quickly and still hot, which is so rare to see with to-gos. I got an Eggs Benedict and it was probably the best one I’ve ever eaten. I can’t wait to place to-gos from here every week for lunch.

I came in for the first time today with my family and was extremely happy with everything about the place. It was amazing to see such great work ethic from the teenagers there. Along with that all the servers were so nice and always had a smile on their faces. The food was to die for and I will most definitely be coming back soon.

Obviously the owner doesnt look at these reviews. I see complaints about the same issues and nothing changes. Our waitress only helped us once the entire time. She was busy gossiping with another waitress instead of getting us coffee or creamer we asked for. The old lady who buses the tables is the one who ended up helping us the entire time. Shame the tips don't go to her instead. The waitresses just stand at the front and gossip loudly instead of helping everyone who was waiting for them. I could see multiple tables were getting frustrated and it wasnt even busy at that time. The fruit was old and disgusting. The Cinnamon French toast tasted rancid and the coffee tasted like a dirty coffee pot. Will not ever go back here again, the prices do not reflect the food or service quality. Breakfast at Jack in the Box is better.

Horrible service!! They weren’t busy plenty of open seats. There were three other tables not getting service. One table had to get there menus. When I told the cashier we were leaving she responded You can’t wait. I told her no we can’t wait for our waitress to wonder around doing nothing and there were other tables being neglected. No apology nothing just have a good day. Definitely lost my business and will have nothing good to say about this cafe.
