Used to have GREAT specials. Rather drive to Nampa or Caldwell. They lost there home town feel.

Headed to Middleton today for a client and had to stop at the local Chinese restaurant. I'm always down for a good Asian meal.

Walking in, it's a very small venue. 6 our 7 tables. I did notice how bright it is. There's huge windows all over so it adds a nice brightness to the joint. With it being so bright, it made the venue open.

There's only 1 server working and 1 chef. I feel like they have it down to a science. Everything came out smoothly and fast. It wasn't really that busy but my food camw out pretty quick.

I ordered fried tofu with mixed vegetables. It came with an option for egg rolls, crab rangoons and another option that I can't remember as a side. I grabbed the crab rangoon as my side and a soup of the day. The soup was chicken and corn soup. The soup came out at a good temp. I know it's pre made so it wasn't super hot. It had lots of mixed veggies like corn, peas and carrots. I didn't really find any chicken in the soup but it was still good. The crab rangoon filling was tasty. I would have liked a little more filling the the crab ragoon. I felt like it was majority wrapper. My tofu and veggies came out shortly. The first thing I noticed was how rich the sauce looked. It was a dark brown. I appreciated how tiny all the veggies were. They were cut small so you didn't have to chew thrift a huge piece of broccoli. The mixture of veggies was great! I loved the napa cabbage in it the most. The sauce unfortunately didn't have a lot of flavor despite of the color of it. It lacked saltiness which would have paired well with the steamed rice. Overall, it was a decent stir fry.

I'm hardly in this area but if I ever am, I look forward to trying this joint out again and tasting other items on their menu.

We love Tsais, the management team, the food and the restaurant is clean. We eat there at least once a month as a team luncheon.

Have been coming for a year, but the last two times service was weak, and food was not as good as it has been.

To all the reviewers out there saying this place is flavorless and made from frozen ingredients, how wrong can you be? My fiancé and I have been ordering here at least 2x a month for the past two years and I have never received anything that tasted frozen or bland. We’ve had our not so favorite dishes and that’s just fine! When you arrive at the restaurant, you can see the owner himself making everything FRESH. And you can taste it! I will always choose Tsai’s over any other Thai/Mandarin cuisine. The staff is so helpful and welcoming. The food speaks for itself, it is delicious, fresh, and leaves you wanting to come back for more! Thank you Tsai’s!

Nothing is made fresh. All processed, frozen and reheated. Very disappointed.

Whelp... I didn't think I was going to agree with the small number of people who rated the food so low. But here I am. Take this review as a grain of salt... Which ironically is what's missing from most of this food. I say take it as a grain of salt, because I am a former chef, specifically of this type of food (Chinese). I got home with my order, and I knew immediately we were going to have issues when I opened the house fried rice, and to my surprise it was still white... Also the wrong kind of rice. Also it didn't seem like they had refrigerated it overnight like you are supposed to. Also it wasn't very fried. It was just white sticky rice with ingredients in it, and maybe a dash of white pepper. No soy sauce, no sesame oil... Nothing... So I popped it into my 15" saute pan, added some light soy sauce, some sesame oil and some MSG (yes, you SHOULD cook with MSG, it's actually not bad for you at all like they tried to tell us in the 90's). Then I tried the noodles... Again, lacking flavor... So I had to drop that in the pan and season it up too. I could go on, but long story short? The pepper beef was swimming gravy (why?) and had very little pepper on it. The general tso's was unlike ANY other one I've ever had before, and wasn't good. The Almond Shrimp was half decent, but again... I had to throw it in a sauté pan and combine the sauce that was on the side, fry it up a bit so the broccoli was actually cooked a bit (was pretty much raw). About the only thing that wasn't totally messed up was the white rice on the side... ? Just saying... I so desperately wanted a decent Chinese restaurant close to me, to be good... But it just wasn't ?. So I will just have to continue to make my own food at home. The $70 worth of food will be fed to the chickens... I don't think they'll be as picky... What a shame, that soooo many people think this is good food. ? Kudos to you if you do I guess. That just means you're satisfied with sub-par food and will be happy wherever you go. I however have really high standards, and this establishment comes no where near what I would consider edible food in the "Chinese" genre of cuisine.

Tsai's Kitchen in Middleton offers delicious Chinese cuisine with a home-cooked feel. I especially enjoyed the General Tso's chicken, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The portions were generous, making it great value for money.

I can't speak for atmosphere because I did take out. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor. The beef broccoli had no sauce so also no flavor. The crab Rangoon had less than 1/2 a TEASPOON! I ordered crab Rangoon not a wonton with a tiny smear of cream cheese mix I had to drown in sweet and sour sauce so I didn't choke. When I called and questioned it you said " that's how I make them sorry bye" anyways lesson learned finally, I tried to give the benefit of a doubt.
